Nadira Murray, BAFTA Scotland-winning; BFI & Chanel Filmmaker Award-winning; and a winner of BIFA Breakthrough Producer, based in Ednburgh. Her company, Sylph Productions, focuses on the voices of first-generation immigrants and refugees/asylum seekers with the goal of connecting the East and West through cinematic experiences.
Nadira comes from an artistic background, with both parents working as theatre actors. She trained at the Drama Studio in London and worked as an actress in London theaters before finding her passion behind the camera. In 2014, she changed her career and pursued film production at the Media Business School in Spain, supported by Creative Europe Media. Her mission is to develop both scripted and unscripted narratives that elevate ethnically diverse voices and bring cultures together through artistic expression.
Nadira participated in the Rotterdam Producer's Lab in 2021 and 2023, as well as the BIFA Springboard program in 2023.
