Hilary Rose is an Irish actor and writer. She is best known for her complex portrayal of Mairead from the hit BBC TV series, The Young Offenders. Hilary has been IFTA nominated twice, in 2018 for Best Actress and in 2017 for Best supporting Actress.
Hilary's previous work includes RTE's comedy The Fear and Republic of Telly and the massively successful historical drama Vikings. Hilary is also an experienced voice over artist having regularly voiced BBC Northern Ireland radio dramas and campaigns for multinational clients for radio and TV.
Born in Galway but raised in Cork, Hilary resides in Ireland with her husband, award winning writer/director Peter Foott. Together they continue to develop film and TV projects for broadcasters worldwide.
Classically trained as an actor Hilary has previously studied at The Gaiety School of Acting, RADA and the Irish Film Academy. Hilary also has a first class honours MA in screenwriting from IADT.
