Shawn Woodward is a professionally Meisner trained actor, studying at Play House West under the tutelage of Jeff Goldblum and Robert Carnegie. She carried on to study at Thor-Carter Studios.
Prior to taking a twenty-year hiatus to raise her family, Shawn's versatility as an actor can be found in various television and film projects, ranging from sitcoms, such as Fresh Prince of Belair, to dramas, such as, When a Man Loves a Woman. She believes her real-life experiences adds a richness and credibility to her on screen roles. She is known for her portrayal of strong women and is the current 2-time winner of Best Actress in a short film for her starring role in "The Dragonfly Tale".
Realizing her love of filmmaking, her interest, and skills, expanded well beyond the performing arena, Shawn has worked behind the scenes as well. She has worked in commercial production, film editing, and crewed several independent projects. She has also just completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. Namaste!
