Exclusive: We hear that New Line’s 8-Bit Christmas will premiere exclusively on HBO Max on Nov. 25th, in all countries where the service is available, meaning U.S. and Latin America. Here in the U.S., that date is Thanksgiving Day, a prime time for watching holiday movies on the couch. 8-Bit Christmas will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in the remaining offshore markets.

8-Bit Christmas is a humorous and heartfelt look back at the adventures of childhood. Set in suburban Chicago in the late 1980s, the story centers on ten-year-old Jake Doyle’s (Winslow Fegley) herculean quest to get the latest and greatest video game system for Christmas.

Michael Dowse directs Neil Patrick Harris, Fegley, June Diane Raphael, Steve Zahn from a script by Kevin Jakubowski based on his novel. Producers are King Richard‘s Tim White, Trevor White, Allan Madelbaum — through their Star Thrower banner — Nick Nantell and Jonathan Sadowski.

Just a few moments ago, the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Award nominations were revealed to the public, continuing on with Phase One of the awards season. Woody Harrelson’s “LBJ” has landed a November 10 release from Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment, the company announced Wednesday.

Rob Reiner directed the Lyndon B. Johnson biopic, which also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Richard Jenkins, Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan and Michael Stahl-David.

The film, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year, was produced by Reiner, Matthew George, Liz Glotzer, Trevor White and Tim White.

The film follows Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson (Woody Harrelson) after he loses the 1960 Democratic presidential nomination to Senator John F. Kennedy (Jeffrey.

“Tully” tells the story of Marlo (Theron), a mother of three who is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Duplass). Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully (Davis). The film will premiere in U.S. theaters on April 20, 2018.

Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment announced today that it has acquired all rights for the U.S. and Canada for director Rob Reiner’s Lbj starring Woody Harrelson in the role of the bombastic 36th President.

The film also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Richard Jenkins, Bill Pullman, Jeffrey Donovan and Michael Stahl-David, and was produced by Reiner, Matthew George, Liz Glotzer, Trevor White and Tim White. Lbj had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and is set for a theatrical release in 2017.

The deal was brokered by Electric Entertainment’s Head of Domestic Distribution, Zac Reeder and by CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.

Former "Burn Notice" star Jeffrey Donovan will portray President John F. Kennedy alongside Woody Harrelson's Lyndon Baines Johnson in Rob Reiner's upcoming "Lbj" film.

Joey Hartstone's script follows Johnson's ascension from the poor hill country of West Texas to the corridors of power in Washington. Johnson was JFK's running mate in the 1960 election and his 1963 assassination led to Johnson ascending to the role of President.

He joins a cast that also includes Jennifer Jason Leigh as Lady Bird Johnson, Michael Stahl-David as Bobby Kennedy, Richard Jenkins as Richard Russell, Bill Pullman as Ralph Yarborough and Kim Allen as Jackie Kennedy.

Reiner, Matthew George, Liz Glotzer, Michael R. Williams, Tim White and Trevor White are all slated to produce and shooting is set to begin late September in New Orleans, Dallas and Washington, D.C.

Star Thrower Entertainment, Ball and Chain Productions and Anonymous Content will partner on The Waiting, a thriller to be directed by Kasra Farahani, starring James Caan (The Godfather, Misery, Elf), Logan Miller (Scouts Vs Zombies, Night Moves, The Stanford Prison Experiment) and Keir Gilchrist (It Follows, It’S Kind Of A Funny Story, “United States of Tara”).

Farahani’s short film Noon was optioned within 24 hours of its release by 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment where it is currently in feature development.

Speaking about their film, Co-founders of Star Thrower Entertainment Tim White and Trevor White said, “Mark and Jeff have crafted an excellent script that seamlessly combines elements of a riveting thriller and fascinating character study. Based on a true story, Jamesy Boy is accomplished-enough inspirational fare to attract the likes of Mary-Louise Parker (as a desperate single mom), James Woods (as a hard-nosed warden) and Ving Rhames (as a convicted murderer/mentor) in supporting roles. First-time feature writer-director Trevor White has shaped the rise, fall and redemption of teenage street thug James Burns (newcomer Spencer Lofranco) into parallel storylines, crosscutting between the three years leading up to his incarceration and the few months he spends in maximum-security prison (after four years in juvie)....

Jamesy Boy is an unconvincing portrait of a teen’s fall into a pit of crime and his eventual redemption that comes with time served in the pen, for two reasons. First, a formulaic script from Lane Shadgett and Trevor White puts its delinquent protagonist, James Burns, into a lot of questionable situations that seem engineered to ruin the character and forecast his eventual downfall – although they makes precious little sense. Second, newcomer Spencer Lofranco looks dazed and confused as Burns, although he also looks too squeaky clean and model cute to pass as a tormented teenage thug. Although it is based on a true story (of the film’s co-producer), Jamesy Boy is definitely not a genuine representation of Burns’ troubled past.

In Trevor White's debut feature film "Jamesy Boy," newly imprisoned James Burns finds a mentor in Conrad, a convicted murderer who tries to help the boy get his life together. The film also marks Spencer Lofranco's, who plays James and has recently joined the cast of Angelina Jolie's "Unbroken," first leading role. Last year, he had a small role in "At Middleton," a film starring Vera Farmiga and rising star Taissa Farmiga, who appears with Lofranco in the clip below. In the clips we see the beginnings of a romance between Lofranco, sporting a punkish hairdo and bruised eye, and Farmiga, whose father owns the convenience store in the scene. The two share some awkward glances, loaded laughs and a magic trick -- all very palpable for their blossoming romance. James Burns's story is extraordinary, but it doesn't seem like one that needs to be told.

In Jamesy Boy, director Trevor White frames the former teen gang member's life as an uplifting coming-of-age prison drama that feels entirely disconnected from the realities of incarceration. Worse, White's decision to shackle his film to a redemptive arc ends up making Burns's story an argument for juvenile imprisonment.

The much younger sister of former Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga may have gotten her breakthrough in the television horror business when she was plucked to headline the premiere season of "American Horror Story" after a small appearance in Vera Farmiga's directorial debut "Higher Ground," but she'll be taking steps three and four in the direction of crime-related films.

Farmiga and most of her "Horror Story" castmates are being replaced for the second season, as showrunners announced in December their plans to have each new season of the series spotlight a separate haunting (with a new family and location).

According to Variety, Farmiga has nothing to be spooked about, though, as she's landed two back-to-back movie leads.

Fans of Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker have cause to celebrate. A new movie role has been announced for the actress. Her Weeds character is no stranger to crime, and her new character may be a little bit of the same. The drama is called Jamesy Boy.

Joining Parker are Ving Rhames and James Woods for the Trevor White directed and co-written project. This is White’s feature film debut. Shooting starts March 4th in Baltimore, Maryland. The lead role of James was won by newcomer Spencer LoFranco.

James is based on a real life teenager by the name of James Burns. He goes from life in a street gang, to a stint in a scary maximum-security prison populated with the worst kind of criminals. Seeing as he’s only making a directorial debut with Jamesy Boy, Trevor White can count himself as a very luck man. According to Deadline, Mary-Louise Parker, James Woods, and Ving Rhames have all signed for the indie drama, written by the director and Lane Shadgett.

After a few low-profile years, James Woods is once again racking up the film projects. Following Straw Dogs and the recently completed Officer Down, he's signed for The Stone Pony and may also direct An American Girl.
