François Péloquin is a French Canadian filmmaker whose first feature film "Le bruit des arbres" ("The Sound of Trees" - 2015) chronicles the summer of a teenager caught between the river and the forest, dreaming of a better life, away from the family sawmill and his native village of Gaspésie, Quebec. It's by embarking on "La Course autour du monde 97-98" as a videographer for Radio-Canada that François fell in love with a trade that will make him direct documentary series, music videos, commercials, visual designs for the stage and the short films: "L'amour domestique", "Les derniers jours de juin" and "L'or du silence". Anthropologist at heart, with a deep love for people and their ordinary ways, François Péloquin creates powerful images that reflect his obsession for truthful details.
