Anabella Ricardo was born in Cuba in 1953. She came to the USA in 1967
with her parents and 3 younger brothers. When she arrived in Miami,
Florida the only words she knew in English were "Thank you", "You're
Welcome", "I don't Speak English" and "I don't know". Confusing the
last two got her into some trouble the first few days of school.
She started reading at the age of 5 when a new bookstore opened right across the street from her home. She would borrow all the latest comic strips (graphic novels) then give them opinions for recommendations to others. She spent more time at that book store than playing with the other kids.
At the age of 7 she started to write her own little stories. By the age of 12 she used to write these long love letters to no one. She would spend hours reading and forgetting about her chores.
Corin Tellado Novels was her favorite before she left Cuba. Anne Rice intrigued her with her great stories, and now Luis Royo one of the greatest Graphic Artists fascinates her. She loves all period books but her passion is more visual The Movies!!
Some of her favorites includes "Somewhere in Time", Pride and Prejudice" but action and Si-Fi are her main vision when she writes.
Love PE and dance classes. Was infatuated with Mikhail Baryshnikov. Her Dream was to be able to dance with him, even if it was not on stage.
She attended Kinlock Park Jr High and Citrus Grove Jr High. Graduatedfrom Miami Sr. High School in 1972. Attended Miami Dade County College, Ward Stone College and Liberty University.
She got married to her first boyfriend a Chinese young man against all odds, right out of high school in 1972, and had 2 children with him, Aurelio and Priscilla. She remarried in 1984 and has 2 more beautiful girls Shatem Raquel and Elizabeth Anne.
In the early 70s she developed a passion for Martial Arts. Where she trained with some of the best Kung Fu Masters in Florida. She also trained with T & D Karate, and her favorite Jerry Lee (Wing Chun).
in the early 90s she partnered with her younger brother Rudy as her dance partner and made it to the finals of Dance Fever in Miami. She stopped dancing when her brother had a tragic accident where he almost lost his legs and was not able to dance with her anymore.
In 1996 she married the lead singer and guitar player from Dr. Jekill the Kings of Rock'a'Jazz. They move to Los Angeles, California in mid-1997, where she continued to manage the band until 2007. They both stayed friends and made music and movies together. They also worked together in production of Shadowman 2007 and collaborated with Bled MMVII, Zombies ate my Prom Date and many other independent and student films.
