Sheeran’S Seasonal Song
Ed Sheeran has written and recorded “Under The Tree,” an original song for Locksmith Animation’s upcoming CG animated feature “That Christmas.” The film, set to debut on Netflix on Dec. 6, is directed by Simon Otto and written by Richard Curtis and Peter Souter.
The star-studded voice cast includes Brian Cox as Santa, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy. The story unfolds in a seaside town where Christmas takes an unexpected turn. Based on Curtis’ children’s book trilogy, “That Christmas” marks his first venture into animation. The film is produced by Nicole P. Hearon and Adam Tandy, with executive producers including Curtis, Mary Coleman, Natalie Fischer, and Julie Lockhart.
Sheeran said: “I find since having kids, there’s a real lack of great animated children’s Christmas movies, so I thought this was such an amazing thing to make and put into the world.

Warning: contains major finale spoilers for ITV’s Red Eye.
By the end of ITV’s Red Eye, Richard Armitage’s character Dr Matthew Nolan had been awake for (approximate calculation) a gazillion hours. Even if he hadn’t been shot saving Hana (Jing Lusi) from that bullet, he’d still have ended the series in a hospital bed due to exhaustion-related organ failure and having blood sugar lower than the Mariana Trench.
Dr Nolan will pull through though, and when he does, he may require a lucid breakdown of what the hell just happened. From car crashes to stapler-surgery to a rogue CIA plot to end the Anglo-China nuclear partnership, all the way to that heroic bullet jump, here’s how everything landed after Red Eye’s surprisingly tight finale.
What Was on the Nano Sim?

In his post-The Hobbit years, actor Richard Armitage has carved out a genre niche for himself—a kind of typical thriller with him being the center of attention. He’s either accused of something or his wife has gone missing; it’s mostly along these lines. These thrillers are never great, but they are always watchable largely thanks to Armitage’s charismatic screen presence. They’re mostly adapted from Harlan Coben’s bestsellers, and they’re always on Netflix. ITV’s latest thriller, Red Eye, is not based on a Coben story, and it’s certainly not on Netflix, but with Armitage being the lead, it does follow the same pattern. And despite all the glaring logical flaws, the show is an entertaining watch from start to finish. Like most recent works of Armitage, it is very bingeable. What makes it unique, though? Well, Armitage doesn’t cheat on...

20 minutes in to Red Eye, a foot chase through Heathrow airport ends with a man making an impassioned plea outside a branch of Leon. He vaults over barriers like the kid in Love Actually and implores the crowd to film his testimony. Rightly wary of flash mob marriage proposals, the British holiday-going public are slow to act but get his message out: vascular surgeon Dr Matthew Nolan is being framed for murder and extradited to Beijing.
Is Nolan (Richard Armitage) guilty, or on the level? Is he being sacrificed by the British government to protect a valuable Chinese nuclear power deal, or is there a deeper conspiracy at work? DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), the no-nonsense cop tasked with escorting Nolan on Flight 357, has six episodes to find out.

She is one of the first east Asian actors to play the lead in a big British drama, and her new show Red Eye is a nerve-jangler. She discusses culture shock, sexism and the sheer joy of making Crazy Rich Asians
As a teenager, Jing Lusi was something of a wild child. She was smoking and drinking by the time she was 13, frequently ended up in detention at school and even got suspended for smoking on school premises. “I needed to let off steam,” she says. The actor was rebelling against her strict parents but also against the stereotype of east Asians as well-behaved, “dorky” students. Hers was one of the few Chinese immigrant families living in Southampton in the 90s. She just wanted to fit in. “I managed to get through school by adopting this persona of: ‘I’m wild and erratic, don’t pick on me because I’m not submissive.

Dua Lipa has ventured into acting in films like Barbie and Argylle, and in both movies, John Cena was a co-star.
The “Dance the Night” singer shared scenes with the Peacemaker star in her acting debut in the Greta Gerwig-directed film, as they were both cast as merpeople.
In a new interview, the singer is opening up about sharing the screen with Cena telling Vanity Fair, “It seems like I can’t seem to do anything without him! He’s really my emotional support actor.”
She continued, “It was fab, and he’s amazing, and I absolutely love working with John. He’s such a great guy and so lovely.”
Dua Lipa said Gerwig “defied all odds” with the Barbie film and shared her thoughts on the director’s work.

It’s turning out to be quite a summer for superspies and supercomputers.
A month after the action feast of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part I”, in which Tom Cruise faced off with an AI supervillain called “the Entity,” comes a very “Mi”-like international espionage thriller with an equally fancy and powerful machine.
“Heart of Stone” stars Gal Gadot as Rachel Stone, an agent for an elite and clandestine intelligence agency called the Charter. Like “Mission: Impossible”, “Heart of Stone” hits glamorous global destinations and features lengthy actions sequence including a wingsuit skydive.

"All of the action, stunts, everything you see was done with real people." Real stunts are cool! Though is the movie any good? Netflix has unveiled a final behind-the-scenes featurette for their action spy thriller titled Heart of Stone, streaming soon if anyone wants to watch. This has been getting awful reviews, and I'm not surprised. Just because they spent a lot of moeny making this doesn't mean it will be any good. Gal Gadot stars as the lead character Rachel Stone, an elite CIA agent who must make sure they don't lose their most valuable asset - a special tech device that allows them to help orchestra the world. The twist is that she also works for a secret "peacekeeping" organization called Charter, and they are free from the government or other ties. So a bit of James Bond, a bit of Mission Impossible, in a globe-trotting adventure with Gadot as our world-saving 007.

Plot: An intelligence operative for a shadowy global peacekeeping agency races to stop a hacker from stealing its most valuable and dangerous weapon.
Review: We have entered the strange period of the SAG-AFTRA strike, where big movies are being released with minimal marketing from the film stars. At any other time, Heart of Stone would get a substantial push on every platform you can imagine. Instead, there are a few interviews filmed several weeks in advance that try to promote the new film. With Wonder Woman herself in the lead, Heart of Stone is designed to be Netflix‘s equivalent of Mission: Impossible, even boasting their shared producers in the trailers. While the film shares more in common with the James Bond franchise, some spectacular chase sequences echo the most recent entries in Tom Cruise’s hit franchise. If Heart of Stone has any distinctive visual moments, they all involve a supercomputer called the Heart. The Heart appears in the form of holographic images surrounding operator the Jack of Hearts (Matthias Schweighöfer), who moves around digital objects and zooms in on key details by waving his hands and touching objects. Yes, we’ve seen many similar depictions of supercomputers ever since Tom Cruise stared intensely at future crimes in 2002’s Minority Report and Tony Stark threw hot rod red on his suit in 2008’s Iron Man. Heck, we’ve seen Jeff Goldblum wave his shockingly large hands around cg-landscapes in apartment commercials.
To his credit though, director Tom Harper doesn’t treat the visuals as anything groundbreaking or particularly exciting. It’s just shorthand for superspy technology. In fact, everything in Heart of Stone is superspy shorthand—a recitation of ideas and characters that we’ve seen time and again.

Though the summer of 2023 has long since become the summer of "Barbenheimer," it's also the summer offering the best action film of the year, "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One." The Tom Cruise-starring seventh entry in the "M:i" franchise is as propulsive and thrilling as any other of the series' installments, full of globe-trotting action, jaw-dropping stunts, unexpected twists, and a disturbingly relevant villain in the form of artificial intelligence. It is -- perhaps fittingly -- all but impossible to not think about the "Mission: Impossible" series, especially its most recent title, while watching the new Netflix actioner "Heart of Stone." No one from "Dead Reckoning" shows up here, but there is a distinct bargain-basement feel to "Heart of Stone...

If there’s one thing to know about MI6 agent Rachel Stone (Gal Gadot), it’s that she’s meant to stay in the van. In Tom Harper’s new action thriller “Heart of Stone,” there are spies in the field and spies who drive, but some spies are just supposed to sit behind a computer screen reading fast-scrolling lines of code and hacking into mainframes. It’s possible this seems a little implausible, knowing what we know about star Gal Gadot’s star persona, and that’s because it is: Rachel Stone of MI6 is not who she says she is.
Stone really belongs to another spy organization — the Charter — designed to correct the wrongs of government-affiliated spy organizations by doing the same work only under the guidance of an AI tool known as the “Heart.” When Stone is out in the field she’s given pathways of most probable success,...

Netflix clearly is determined to play the major-studio game of big, star-driven action franchises. Extraction, its current sequel, another Russo Brothers’ franchise The Gray Man (with the promise of more), Red Notice and many others represent big-screen-type entertainment designed ultimately for people to watch on their couches at home.
This kind of stuff, while skillfully and expensively executed, still works best at Imax rather than your living room, but the streamer is convinced that it will goose subscriptions, so expect more of movies like Heart of Stone, a convoluted spy thriller loaded with James Bond-style action set pieces but with a wonder woman in the name of Gal Gadot in the center of it all. Taking a cue from Charlize Theron’s Netflix franchise The Old Guard, this is a female-driven enterprise where the men, namely Jamie Dornan’s complicated bad guy, take a back seat for the most part.

Tom Harper’s Heart of Stone is a paint-by-numbers global espionage thriller that isn’t done any favors by releasing so soon after Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The film is similar in scope and tone to the most recent Ethan Hunt spy caper but vastly inferior by almost every other measure, especially when it comes to action and characterization.

Netflix tries muscling in on the Mission: Impossible game with the adrenaline-charged spy thriller Heart of Stone, built as a vehicle for Gal Gadot (one of the producers) to swap superheroics for a more earthbound combo of brains, tech savvy, instinct and formidable fight skills. While it’s a few notches up from the Wonder Woman star’s last action romp for the streamer, Red Notice, it feels only marginally less manufactured from the spare parts of other movies. But it gets the job done and is sure to pull solid numbers. It doesn’t hurt that Gadot has appealing chemistry with co-star Jamie Dornan.
The timing seems mildly unfortunate given that the most recent M:i installment, Dead Reckoning, hit theaters only a month ago and also revolves around a risibly named AI mega-brain, “The Entity,” which nefarious forces are angling to control.

Crazy Rich Asians star Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage are leading an ITV drama about an all-night plane flight from London to Beijing and the corridors of power within Whitehall.
Lesley Sharp is also set for Bad Wolf’s Red Eye, which is the debut TV project from Flightplan writer Peter A. Dowling.
The show will air on Itvx in 2024. After attending a medical conference in Beijing and coming frighteningly close to dying in a car crash, Dr Matthew Nolan, played by Armitage arrives home and is immediately arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport. Exhausted and confused, Nolan is accused of the murder of a woman who was in the car he crashed. Gal Gadot, star of the “Wonder Woman” movies and periodic ensemble player in The “Fast” Saga, is getting her crack at a Netflix female-led actioner.
In “Heart of Stone,” Gadot stars as an MI6 agent who secretly works for a covert peacekeeping organization known as The Charter. However, things go awry, as they often do in these films, leaving the professional badass comparatively isolated from her MI6 life and having to save the day with little backup. What follows is the expected assortment of action stunts (including a snowy mountaintop skydiving escape) and more conventional sky-high fight scene amid fisticuffs and shootings.
So, no, “Heart of Stone” doesn’t seem to reinvent the wheel, but if it works on its own terms then that will be enough for most Netflix viewers. Whether it spawns a new franchise, well, there’s a long road between “This is the start of a new franchise!

Netflix's newest attempt at creating its own high-stakes action franchise has been revealed. During the streamer's Tudum fan event, the first footage of the Gal Gadot spy vehicle "Heart of Stone" was revealed. This exclusive sneak peek shed some light on what to expect from this spy thriller, the plot of which has previously been kept under wraps.
Gadot plays Rachel Stone, a seasoned CIA agent that gets wrapped up in a mysterious conspiracy. From the footage we see in the exclusive sneak peek, it looks like she'll be in the center of something that involves governments from all over the world. From a visual perspective, those early comparisons of the "Mission: Impossible" and James Bond franchises are pretty apt, but we'll still have to wait a while before it fully lives up to this promise.

"You see... there was this bee." Netflix has revealed an official trailer for a fun comedy series titled Man vs Bee, the return of kooky British comedian Rowan Atkinson making us laugh even more. "A comedy series that will get the whole family buzzing." Atkinson last made the Johnny English Strikes Again movie in 2018, and has been doing a few other Mr Bean comedies recently, including the "Handy Bean" series. In this one, he doesn't play Mr. Bean specifically, but it still looks fun as he gets into more trouble. A man finds himself at war with a bee while housesitting a luxurious mansion. Who will win, and what irreparable damage will be done in the process? In addition to Atkinson, the cast includes Jing Lusi, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Greg McHugh, India Fowler, Claudie Blakley, & Tom Basden. The quirky-sounding Rowan Atkinson series Man vs Bee has revealed its cast, with Crazy Rich Asians star Jing Lusi set to lead the upcoming Netflix comedy. Created by Mr. Bean star Atkinson and Johnny English writer Will Davies, the short-form series revolves around Trevor (Atkinson), a man who finds himself in a battle with a bee as he avoids irreparable damage to the luxurious mansion he’s house-sitting.
