Sean Williams started his professional career as a photographer and later a comic book colorist, working freelance for both Image and Marvel Comics. These experiences taught him to see things in the frame and visually tell a story. As he started screenwriting, he carried these lessons into his process, placing in multiple screenwriting competitions including "Project Greenlight" as a quarter-finalist. Looking to advance, Sean launched a small collective of creatives called Crackhorse Productions, where he produced, wrote, and directed the no-budget web series "One Day", garnering over a million views.
That was ten years ago, and since that time Sean has crewed on miscellaneous films, industrials, music videos, and commercials; working his way up the ladder from production assistant to lighting, assistant director, and directing. Some of these projects include creating the lighting design for the feature film Pigster by acclaimed horror director John Lechago, the sci-fi thriller Fly Trap directed by Stephen Brooks, and the Dances with Films Audience Award winner, 80's nostalgic horror film The Terror of Hallows Eve by Todd Tucker. He was also an assistant director for David R Hardberger on short films "Ringer", "Rosalind", and "Homecoming", all of which have won multiple film festival awards. Additionally, Sean directed the music video "Gravity" by pop artist Lizzy Small; and during the pandemic, wrote and directed the socially distanced romantic comedy Love Outbreak, which featured an international cast from 8 different countries, and is currently in post-production.
Since 2023, Sean is producing the podcast and interview show "Below the Line", which celebrates filmmakers highlighting the talents, careers, and passions of creatives working hard within the industry. That led him to touring with filmmaker Justin Monroe moderating Q&A panels after screenings of the Slamdance 2021 winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature, "Holy Frit''. This tour took him internationally and domestically to over fifteen theaters reconfirming his passion for film, the love of story and his dedication to its creation.
