Kat Steffens has two decades of professional acting, writing, and directing experience. She played Jackie Kennedy in Tom Hanks produced movie PARKLAND; lead role in VINDICATION on Amazon Prime; and can be seen in upcoming supporting roles for LOVE and DEATH on HBO and CLOCK on HULU, along with dozens of professional theatre, indie film, and commercial credits from Chicago/ Midwest region, Texas/NM, and LA.
She holds a BFA in acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University with a minor in Digital Cinema/Screenwriting. Two years post graduate studies in Shakespeare in Chicago and Upright Citizens Brigade Improv training in LA. She studied acting coaching for camera with Anna Campbell of Actors House Studio in LA. She is currently enrolled in a four year certification program at The Feldenkrais Institute of Ann Arbor working toward her Feldenkrais Guild Membership.
She was honored to be selected as a top tier guest artist at the Texas Thespian State Festival and the Texas Thespian Educator Conference. Her company Trifecta Acting and Performance Training (www.TrifectaActing.com) coaches actors and corporate professionals using a new method of acting Kat developed in the last ten years to meet the demands of film acting in the modern industry. Trifecta is the resident acting studio of Alamo City Studios in San Antonio and is expanding to the Dallas Fort Worth and Louisville Kentucky film markets. Kat serves as director of curriculum development for the East Side Youth Content Creators Program funded by the city of San Antonio, and hopes to bring similar programs to other cities for under-served communities. She has been a guest teacher for Carol Hickey Studios in Austin and for workshops around the country. Kat is especially passionate about incorporating somatic methods that connect neuroscience, the body, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness to elevate her clients' performance on film or in corporate settings.
