There’s a new podcast in town. Comedy Central and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah are launching The Daily Show Podcast Universe, an original five-episode miniseries that is part of its Global Podcast Network.

The Daily Show Podcast will bow on January 13. The limited series will parody a variety of popular podcasts and will feature Trevor Noah and The Daily Show correspondents, plus special guests. Fans can subscribe to The Daily Show Podcast Universe anywhere podcasts are heard.

Comedy Central is adding two new podcasts to its Global Podcast Network: “Stand-Up with Chris Distefano” and “Your 2 Dads with Sean and Julian.”

“Stand-Up with Chris Distefano,” launching April 18, dives into a library of stand-up routines for a weekly listening party between Distefano and his in-studio producer, Nicole Boyce. Pulling anything from modern bits to decades-old ones, the pair listen to and analyze classic routines, talk comedy, and take calls from some of Distefano’s comedian friends.

Distefano is an actor, comedian, and host of the Comedy Central’s series “Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano.” His one-hour stand-up special “Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist” premiered in January on Comedy Central. He recently signed an overall deal with the network, which will include a second hour-long stand-up special, an animated series, and an unscripted series. In the past he has appeared on MTV’s “Guy Code vs. Girl Code.”

New York’s Funniest comedy competition winner Julian McCullough will host Discovery’s Shark After Dark, the late-night aftershow for the network’s iconic Shark Week, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

World's Funniest Fails has done well enough to convince Fox to order a second round of episodes. Now, the show adapted from the FailArmy YouTube channel will give online video viewers an extra reason to tune in. Mamrie Hart, who hosts You Deserve A Drink on YouTube, is a panelist on the March 6th edition of World's Funniest Fails.

On the program, Hart will join fellow panelists Baron Vaughn and Julian McCullough, along with host Terry Crews. Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings, produced by Chelsea Handler’s Borderline Amazing Prods, launched in November with a six-episode order. The network picked up six more episodes in January but has now opted not to order more. At the time of the renewal, E! brass touted Cummings’ ability to not only attract E!’s core female audience with her show but also develop a strong male following. The weekly series featured Cummings and sidekick Julian McCullough. Its guests included Mindy Kaling, Will Ferrell, Lizzy Caplan and Ginnifer Goodwin. Judging a late-night talk show is a tricky game, but I’m a fan of both Whitney and Whitney, so it isn’t difficult for me to ease into the groove that is Love You Mean It, Whitney Cummings new show on E!. It definitely has a different flavor to it, one that is closer to Chelsea Lately than most other late-night shows, but so far it’s a lot of fun.

A mix of what is basically a stand-up act, some “segments” (like the Insta-Grammar clip below), and chatting with guests, it’s a show that moves along at a pretty good clip, and is actually described pretty well by the overused soundbite “Whitney being Whitney.”

Just a couple of years ago, she was a cult stand-up comic best known in TV terms for her appearances on "Chelsea Lately" and a series of Comedy Central Roasts.

Last year, however, the 30-year-old Cummings started to diversify in a big way, co-creating with Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") the hit CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls," on which she continues to produce and write, as well as creating, executive producing and starring on her own NBC sitcom, "Whitney," which recently started its second season.
