Comedy Central is adding two new podcasts to its Global Podcast Network: “Stand-Up with Chris Distefano” and “Your 2 Dads with Sean and Julian.”
“Stand-Up with Chris Distefano,” launching April 18, dives into a library of stand-up routines for a weekly listening party between Distefano and his in-studio producer, Nicole Boyce. Pulling anything from modern bits to decades-old ones, the pair listen to and analyze classic routines, talk comedy, and take calls from some of Distefano’s comedian friends.
Distefano is an actor, comedian, and host of the Comedy Central’s series “Stupid Questions with Chris Distefano.” His one-hour stand-up special “Chris Distefano: Size 38 Waist” premiered in January on Comedy Central. He recently signed an overall deal with the network, which will include a second hour-long stand-up special, an animated series, and an unscripted series. Which celebrity will be win the coveted title of “Best Guest of the Night”?
That’s the question that TruTV’s “Talk Show the Game Show” asks when it premieres on April 5. When stars visit late-night talk shows to promote a project or themselves, they need to play nice to win over the host, Guy Branum (“Chelsea Lately,” “The Mindy Project”) and audience. “Talk Show the Game Show” awards them for these skills.

Judging a late-night talk show is a tricky game, but I’m a fan of both Whitney and Whitney, so it isn’t difficult for me to ease into the groove that is Love You Mean It, Whitney Cummings new show on E!. It definitely has a different flavor to it, one that is closer to Chelsea Lately than most other late-night shows, but so far it’s a lot of fun.
A mix of what is basically a stand-up act, some “segments” (like the Insta-Grammar clip below), and chatting with guests, it’s a show that moves along at a pretty good clip, and is actually described pretty well by the overused soundbite “Whitney being Whitney.”

Zap2it: Do you clash much with network censors over either "2 Broke Girls" or "Whitney"?
Whitney Cummings: With "2 Broke Girls," we don't have to make a lot of compromises over there. I don't think the show runner, Michael Patrick King, is having to change much. [With "Whitney"], that's a relationship show about these two people; it's not a stand-up act or a roast. I challenge myself every day to take out edgier jokes on that show, because that's just not how I would really talk to my boyfriend. It would feel false, like, "Oh, look, Whitney's doing her stand-up!"
Zap2it: What made you pick Julian McCullough to be your "Love You, Mean It" sidekick?

Is Whitney Cummings trying to take over the world?
Just a couple of years ago, she was a cult stand-up comic best known in TV terms for her appearances on "Chelsea Lately" and a series of Comedy Central Roasts.
Last year, however, the 30-year-old Cummings started to diversify in a big way, co-creating with Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") the hit CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls," on which she continues to produce and write, as well as creating, executive producing and starring on her own NBC sitcom, "Whitney," which recently started its second season.
On Wednesday, Nov. 28, Cummings takes on a third project, "Love You, Mean It With Whitney Cummings," a weekly half-hour talk show on E! Entertainment Television, which the channel is pairing with its hit Joel McHale snarkfest, "The Soup."
