Italian-Canadian film director, producer and screenwriter, Dom Cutrupi, embarked on his journey in the entertainment industry as a stage manager for the Vatican City TV Channel, TV2000, in Rome. In 2010, he made the move to Vancouver, Canada, where he established Lumberwitch Films.
Over the years, Dom honed his directorial and editing skills by working on commercials and corporate videos. In 2017, he successfully completed his first narrative project, a VR Sci-Fi short film called "Lithium Dreams." He further explored the realm of serialized film production with the captivating mini-series, "Edible People." Dom's thought-provoking sci-fi short film, "Yokomeshi," which delved into the complexities of communication and languages, earned him the Best Sci-Fi Short award at the Toronto Short Film Festival.
In 2022, Dom's debut feature film, "Residents of Arcadia," a sci-fi thriller exploring immigration, based on his personal experience, was released by Good Deed Entertainment in North America and made available on the premium streaming platform, Super Channel. The film garnered attention at various film festivals, winning the Best Production Design award at the Other World Film Fest in Austin. It was also recognized as one of the New York Times' picks for Best Sci-Fi Film to Watch in February 2023.
Dom's highly anticipated second feature film, "Lola Dust," a thriller about deep fakes and media fabrication, will be released in 2024.
