Guy Ritchie’s new crime series doesn’t have an official title, but it does have a stellar cast. Paramount+ announced the series will star Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day), Helen Mirren (1923), and Tom Hardy (Venom: The Last Dance) as series regulars.

Paramount+ describes the project as “an electrifying, new global crime series centered around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch all corners of the globe and the fiercely loyal ‘fixer’ charged with protecting one of them at all costs.”

Per the streamer, Hardy will play Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family. Brosnan stars as Conrad Harrigan, the head of a very successful Irish crime family based out of London for whom Harry works. Mirren plays Maeve Harrigan, Conrad’s wife and the Harrigan family matriarch.

Last month, it was reported that Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan were in talks to star in a new Guy Ritchie series called The Associate, which was to believed to be a spin-off of the Showtime series Ray Donovan. The Associate was also once thought to be called The Donovans, which had the following synopsis: “With the most powerful clients in Europe, The Donovans will see family fortunes and reputations at risk, odd alliances unfold, and betrayal around every corner, and while the family might be London’s most elite fixers today, the nature of their business means there is no guarantee what’s in store tomorrow.” Guy Ritchie was to direct The Donovans and executive produce alongside series writer Ronan Bennett.

However, it has been reworked into a standalone series with no connections to that franchise. It was also previously reported that it was filming under the working title “The Associate,” but that is no longer the case.

There have been quite a few documentaries on the subject, but Paramount+ has now landed the rights to the first fictional look at the infamous cold case. According to Deadline, the series has been looking for a home since March and has now been confirmed to air on Paramount+.

Lioness, the Taylor Sheridan drama starring Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira, has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+.

Previously titled Special Ops: Lioness, the drama is inspired by an actual U.S. military program that follows the life of Joe (Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror.

The drama, which also stars Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman, set a record as the streamer’s most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day, with nearly 6 million total viewers in its first week across Paramount+ globally and on a linear preview on the Paramount Network.

Paramount+ today announced a new series order for Crutch, a half-hour comedy starring Tracy Morgan. The series will be set in the world of CBS Networks’ hit comedy The Neighborhood. It centers on its titular character, Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan)—or “Crutch” to those who know him well.

Crutch is a Harlem widower whose empty nest plans are put on hold after his millennial son and free-spirited daughter move back home. CBS Studios is producing the series, which is slated to begin production later this year.

Hailing from Cedric The Entertainer and his production company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment, the series is executive produced by Cedric and Eric C. Rhone, along with Owen Smith, who wrote the premiere script and will also serve as showrunner; Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment; Wendi Trilling for TrillTV; and Tracy Morgan.

The world of CBS’ The Neighborhood is expanding.

The network’s streaming sibling, Paramount+, has ordered a comedy series titled Crutch that stars Tracy Morgan and is set in the same world as The Neighborhood — albeit on the other side of the country. The show comes from CBS Studios, and The Neighborhood star and executive producer Cedric The Entertainer is among its EPs.

Morgan will play Francois Crutchfield, aka Crutch, a cousin of Cedric’s Calvin Butler and a Harlem widower whose adult son and daughter move back in with him. Morgan previously guest starred in a 2022 episode of The Neighborhood as a different relative of Calvin’s — his younger brother Curtis.

Tracy Morgan will star in a new Paramount+ comedy series that is set in the same world as the CBS show “The Neighborhood,” Variety has learned.

The Neighborhood universe is expanding with a second series, Crutch. Paramount+ has picked up the half-hour, multi-camera comedy headlined by Tracy Morgan. It is set in the world of the popular CBS sitcom starring Cedric the Entertainer, which has been renewed for a seventh season.

Crutch hails from Owen Smith, who penned the pilot script, and The Neighborhood‘s production companies, Cedric’s A Bird and a Bear Entertainment, Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling TrillTV and CBS Studios.

The six-episode series, featuring Idris Elba voicing the title character and also starring Adam Pally, amassed 4 million hours of viewing worldwide over its first three days of release — a record for a Paramount+ original series, the streamer says. (Paramount+’s announcement also marks a rare instance of publicly disclosing any viewing data for its programming.) Paramount+ has 71 million subscribers, parent company Paramount Global said in its first quarter earnings report.

With a running time of 169 minutes across all six episodes, Knuckles‘ 4 million hours of viewing equates to about 1.42 million complete showings (or “views,” in the widely accepted definition of the term for streaming shows) of the series in the opening weekend. Julia Garner has been tapped to star in a prequel to the 1968 classic horror film Rosemary’s Baby titled Apartment 7A.

The psychological thriller was directed by Natalie Erika James (Relic), who also co-wrote the script with Christian White and Skylar James. It will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ before Halloween.

According to the official logline, the film will take place in 1965 New York City and tell the story of what happened before Rosemary moved into the titular apartment. “When a struggling, young dancer suffers a devastating injury, she finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame,” the description reads.

Even when making allowances for Roman’s (Sidney Blackmer) understandable delight at seeing his plan come to fruition, that’s a lot of expectation to put on a newborn, no matter who his father might be. Unfortunately, the sequels chronicling Adrian’s rise to power didn’t quite live up to those expectations. Neither the 1976 TV movie Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby, in which Patty Duke subs in for Mia Farrow, nor original author Ira Levin’s follow-up book Son of Rosemary (1997) manages to deliver what Roman promised.
