Kenny Young is a 6x academy (BAFTA, AIAS) nominated freelance composer, sound designer and audio director, best known as the driving force behind the celebrated audio experiences in the LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway video game franchises.
Before embarking on his freelance career, Kenny worked in-house at Media Molecule for eight years, joining the startup in 2007 to found their audio department and establish their reputation for exceptional interactive audio experiences. Prior to this he studied music technology as an undergraduate and went on to gain an MA with distinction in sound design before landing his first job as a sound designer in the busy centralized audio department of Sony's London Studio.
A passionate and committed advocate for the game audio community, Kenny is also a multi-award winning writer, sits on the GDC audio advisory board, has been a BAFTA, IGF, GDC and GANG awards juror, and speaks regularly at conferences and higher education institutions around the world.
