Jeremy Scott Olsen
- Sound Department
- Composer
Jeremy Scott Olsen finds sound and music just amazing. Lucky for him, he gets to do them for a living. Big recent projects have included shooting ADR for the feature film "aTypical Wednesday" and the Showtime limited series, "The Loudest Voice," and writing a big colorful orchestral score for the feature film "Boris and the Bomb."
He spends much of his time recording and editing dialogue for Seth MacFarlane's productions, primarily American Dad!, while taking on additional post audio and music work. You can hear his dialogue recording work on the The Orville, the 2017 Emmy Awards, and over 250 episodes of American Dad!, The Cleveland Show, and Family Guy. Jeremy has contributed ADR recording, sound editing, or mixing to four features and numerous film shorts, and restored dozens of hours of audio soundtracks for TV and film. He has also recorded and mixed a bunch of fun music projects, played in the Los Angeles Laker Band at basketball games and in a few rock bands, and performed live with Fleetwood Mac and with The Rescues. In a previous life he taught high school band, middle school music, and private drum set lessons. He loves to listen to brilliant sound and music people geek out about what they know best.
As a part of his dialogue recording work, Jeremy has had the good fortune to record musical performances by Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Weird Al, Fergy, Daryl Hall, Frank Sinatra Jr., and Darren Criss, as well as voice acting performances by some of the world's best-known actors and biggest personalities, like Whoopi Goldberg, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bryan Cranston, Matt Kemp, Mariah Carey, Ed Asner, will.i.am, Adam West, Jane Lynch, Mickey Rooney, Carl Reiner, Nicki Minaj, Flea, Carrie Fisher, Rush Limbaugh, and Kristen Schaal.
Jeremy was born December 27, 1976 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He grew up in that state until roughly age 8, then lived in northern California's Bay Area until college at USC. (Fight On, Trojans!) He has been a southern Californian ever since. He lives there with his amazing (and very tolerant) wife and two incredible daughters.
