- Anna Maria Sturm was born in Regensburg, Bavaria. She lives in Berlin.
During her studies at the Otto Falckenberg Acting School in Munich, Anna Maria Sturm started playing her first roles at the Munich Kammerspiele, Munich's city theatre. She was discovered by the young film director Marcus H. Rosenmueller, with whom she developed an intensive collaboration. Sturm played the main character in Rosenmuellers coming-of-age movies 'Beste Zeit' / 'Good Times' (2007) and 'Beste Gegend' (2008), and she performs in his historical biography of the German dramatist Emanuel Schickaneder, 'Sommer der Gaukler' (2011).
Anna Maria Sturm also appears in diverse price-winning television films and series, such as 'Die Hebamme' (2010) and 'Tatort: Nie wieder frei sein' (2010). In the TV-series 'Polizeiruf 110' she plays the young investigator Anna Burnhauser.- IMDb Mini Biography By: jotv
- Anna Maria Sturm is keen on poetry. She created two musical readings: one on the French poet Arthur Rimbaud (together with a classical cellist player) and one with poems by the Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard (In Hora Mortis, together with jazz virtuoso Wanja Slavin). She will be performing both readings from spring '12 onward.
