Cm Punk’s rise as a main event WWE superstar has been nothing short of remarkable. After spending the first six years in WWE, one night changed his entire life. Punk dropped a verbal tirade on the entire establishment which infamously came to be known as ‘The Pipebomb.’
That night in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas marked the ascension of Cm Punk to the top of the heap. In doing so, he became the WWE Champion by defeating Alberto Del Rio at the 2011 Survivor Series event, which marked the start of his impressive 434-day reign.

Before Dwayne Johnson made an acting career in Hollywood, he was a professional wrestler who was also great at selling stunners. In fact, he even adds his own flair to it that viewers enjoy. According to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock was the best at taking his signature move.

The WWE is popular for its scripted performance inside the ring, and all the more people invest in watching it because they witness dramatic stunts and tense rivalries. This is what sells the show, and while The Rock was so good at his craft, there’s another athlete who seems better at the job.
Dolph Ziggler deserved better treatment during his WWE days
Dolph Ziggler had an amazing career at WWE after signing a contract in 2004, debuting as Nick Nemeth and later changing it to Dolph Ziggler in 2008 after he re-debuted on Raw with a new image.

John Wayne's Rio Lobo contains a fun easter egg callback to an underrated 1953 Western - even though its implications are reality-shaking. John Wayne fronted around 80 Westerns in his career and was very happily typecast as a cowboy. That said, he largely avoided sequels throughout his 50-year career, with the unofficial Rio Bravo trilogy being one of his rare franchises. The reason this trilogy is "unofficial" is that instead of being direct sequels, all three films are riffs on Rio Bravo's story.
Wayne and director Howard Hawks switched around character traits and themes, but both El Dorado and Rio Lobo are essentially Rio Bravo Remixed. Sadly, the latter is the worst of the trio, with Hawks later dismissing it as "that damn piece of junk;" even Tarantino stated Rio Lobo was the film that convinced him to retire early, as he didn't want to end his career on a tired note.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead For Outer Banks Season 4.Netflix's Outer Banks season 4 has set up a shocking fifth and final season. Following the tragic death of JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) of the Pogues in Morocco, his life-long friends are out for revenge on his killer. Outer Banks season 4's ending saw JJ stabbed to death by his biological father, Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane). As season 4 worked to unravel the complicated race for the world's most treasured artifacts, Outer Banks season 5 will likely focus further on the outcome of the multi-season character arcs for the other Pogues through the lens of grief.
Before JJ's death at the close of the season, the Pogues were juggling a variety of issues. Pope Heyward (Jonathan Daviss Jr.) risked jail time for aiding and abetting JJ's escape and was nearly forced to join the Marines. At the same time, Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) is pregnant...

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Paddington in Peru.
Paddington in Peru ends the trilogy with a story filled with the same heart and laughs as its predecessors, with no shortage of big twists. Rather than being set in London, this time around, Paddington in Peru switches filming locations to, well, Peru, the lovable bear's home country. The story centers around the search for Paddington's Aunt Lucy, who goes missing from the Home for Retired Bears. By following what is considered one of the best movies of all time in Paddington 2, Paddington in Peru had a lot of pressure on its shoulders.
While maybe not reaching the heights of its predecessor, the story proves itself as a worthy one by the time of Paddington in Peru's ending. Not only does the film contain the same emotional and comedic core as the first two, but Paddington in Peru's story...

Outer Banks season 4 features the Pogues John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo searching for the treasure of Edward Teach, aka the infamous pirate, Blackbeard. The Netflix action-adventure mystery teen drama series, created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, follows a group of Pogues in the Outer Banks, meaning they belong to the working-class section (Kiara's parents are Kooks (wealthy residents) but she identifies as a Pogue, and Cleo is an honorary Pogue after Outer Banks season 3). The characters find themselves on treasure hunts, and their adventure in season 4 involves Blackbeard.
Outer Banks season 3's ending jumps ahead 18 months after the Pogues found El Dorado, and a man named Wes Genrette approaches John B., Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo at the ceremony honoring their discovery. He has a proposition for them partner with him to find the treasure of Blackbeard. Genrette has Blackbeard's captain log from 1718, and,...

Outer Banks Season 4 Part 1 Ending Explained: JJ's Identity Twist & Who Groff Is Really Working With
John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo venture on yet another treacherous journey in Outer Banks season 4, but this time, the treasure hunt uncovers many unexpected secrets, including the truth about JJ's family. Netflix's action-adventure mystery teen drama follows a group of Pogues living in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After discovering El Dorado during Outer Banks season 3's ending, the Pogues are richer than ever in season 4, meaning there's no need for more adventures (at first). Unfortunately, JJ uses most of their money to buy his property back so they can live and work there.
After building a surf/bait/tackle shop, it gets damaged by a storm, and zoning changes threaten to take Poguelandia away from the group. Consequently, the Pogues are forced to take Wes Genrette up on his offer to retrieve Blackbeard's wife's amulet in exchange for $50,000. They encounter other treasure hunters, led by Lightner,...

We could quibble and debate this all day, but barring the odd exception like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban or Toy Story 3, third installments in film franchises seldom excel their predecessors in quality. And so it is with a sense of inevitable disappointment, like children knowing that their parents’ current financial difficulties will mean less exciting holiday presents this year, that we come to unpack Paddington in Peru.
The sequel is certainly no disgrace. It has many charming elements and qualities, including spectacular scenery, a child-friendly adventure story and Olivia Colman as a manically grinning, occasionally singing, nun. But Paddington in Peru is burdened with the unenviable task of following up two near-perfect predecessors, Paddington (2014) and Paddington 2 (2017).
Those works took some much loved but decidedly dusty intellectual property (Michael Bond’s first book, A Bear Called Paddington was first published in 1958) and found a way to both honor its poky,...

January 27, 2014, is a day that lives in infamy within the WWE Universe as the day that Cm Punk walked out on the company moments before Monday Night Raw went on the air and a day following his final televised match with the company, the Royal Rumble. He was old, hurt, and tired of working with WWE enough to walk away from the wrestling business.
Fast forward to a decade later, the year is 2024 and, miraculously, not only is the former WWE Champion out of retirement as an active wrestler, but as a WWE Superstar. Granted, it came after a highly publicized stint in Aew riddled with controversy and backstage brawls, but that's semantics. What is most important is the fact that at age 45, Punk is still delivering quality, classic matches under the WWE banner, just as he was doing more than a decade prior.

Rio Lobo closed John Wayne's unofficial Rio Bravo Western trilogy. El Dorado and Rio Lobo essentially remade Rio Bravo, remixing characters and themes. Despite criticism, Rio Lobo, the last film of Howard Hawks' directing career, is a laidback, enjoyable ride.
Rio Lobo marked the end of an unofficial John Wayne trilogy, and has come to be regarded as one of his most underrated Westerns. John Wayne fronted 80 Westerns throughout his long career and starred in them right up until his final film, The Shootist. The 1970s was a grim time for the genre because outside of Wayne or Clint Eastwood, the popularity of the Western was on a downward trajectory in terms of box office. Many of Wayne's final efforts in the genre weren't up to the quality of his earlier work either.

Dwayne Johnson and John Cena’s rivalry started way back in 2011 when The Rock returned to WWE after a seven-year hiatus to host WrestleMania 27. Johnson made fun of Cena and his catchphrase “You Can’t See Me” during the event. Cena also later responded with hurtful remarks, which led to the duo booking a headline match at WrestleMania 28 almost a year before the event. During this period, Cena also started a rivalry with Cm Punk.

Sometimes a WWE title run just doesn’t work. Maybe the wrestler wasn’t right for it. Maybe the wrestler was right but the writing was all wrong. Maybe the disastrous choice to make someone champion not only hurt the careers of others but also damaged the company as a whole.

Keep in mind, this list is broken down into specific title runs, so while it was copacetic to have Hulk Hogan wave the banner during the Hulkamania era, that doesn’t mean that it was always the best move to put him at the top of the food chain. John Wayne defined the classic Western hero, appearing in 83 Westerns, including timeless classics like "Stagecoach" and "True Grit." Clint Eastwood subverted the traditional Western genre with morally ambiguous characters, setting a precedent for Spaghetti and Revisionist Westerns. James Stewart brought his relatable everyman persona to Westerns, portraying both protagonist and antagonist characters, showcasing his versatility.
The Western genre was an enormous entity in 20th-century filmmaking, and many actors were known primarily for appearing in them. Several actors left a distinct mark on the genre by starring in at least five great Western films. Many qualities constitute a great Western, be it that they were massively influential for their era, like Stagecoach, stood the test of time as masterpiece films, like Once Upon a Time in the West, or were commercially successful, like How the West Was Won.
When considering the great Western actors, names like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood immediately ring a bell.

She's done a lot of work getting herself into ring shape, but when she had to face off against a woman, the gloves came off, and she had to fight harder than she ever had to with the guys.
Tanya, aka El Dorado, has seen it all. She's been on the circuit for a long time, living on the road and taking each fight as they come available. Without an actual women's division, she was effectively freelance.
Things are changing in the Dwl, and it's impossible not to feel the excitement creeping back into everyone. They might have hit a rough patch, but they're moving through it and taking things to the next level.

The Outer Banks season 3 is set to hit Netflix on February 23, and the trailer teases that the wildest plot is yet to come for the Pogues. While The Outer Banks season 2 featured John B and Sarah as international fugitives and the hunt for the Cross of Santo Domingo, season 3 looks like it will certainly be on par with the action and fast-paced adventures seen in season 2.
The Outer Banks season 2 finale showed the Pogues on an island, together but seemingly stranded with each other. While the Pouges’ next steps weren’t clear, it was established by John B and Pope that the treasure hunt wasn’t over yet. It’ll be interesting to see where season 3 picks up, but it did tease that the gang was still on the island, which JJ dubbed “Pougelandia.”

Alec Baldwin must face a lawsuit from Rust script supervisor Mamie Mitchell over his role in the on-set shooting that resulted in the death and injury of two crew members, a judge has ruled.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Whitaker on Tuesday refused to dismiss claims of assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence against the actor. He found that Mitchell established “extreme and outrageous conduct on the part of Baldwin,” who “unexpectedly cocked and fired a loaded handgun” despite being aware of a disastrous safety culture on the set of Rust where producers shirked industry-wide norms related to the use of guns to shoot the movie on a shoestring budget.

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ruled that ‘Rust’ script supervisor Mamie Mitchell can pursue her negligence and other claims against Hollywood star Alec Baldwin, who fired a loaded gun on the New Mexico set of the indie Western last year that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
The Tuesday’s ruling comes as the Santa Fe District Attorney continues to scrutinise the police report about the fatal shooting, which occurred on October 21, 2021 at Bonanza Creek Ranch, reports ‘Deadline’.
Baldwin had filed a motion to be removed from the civil lawsuit filed in November 2021 by Mitchell, who was standing near Hutchins and Souza when the gun Baldwin was holding fired. Judge Michael E. Whitaker also denied a motion from Baldwin and his El Dorado Pictures Inc to strike the script supervisor’s claim for punitive damages.

Welcome to this week’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more from Tony Khan’s weekly drug trip. Also, there are a shit-load of perverts who have been allegedly revealed, including Jim Cornette & Synn, Dave Lagana, Jordan Devlin & numerous others in Nxt UK and David Starr (along with Alberto Del Rio a few months back and Jay Lethal numerous times over the years). The stories are horrifying and include male and female victims. If you are reading this and have ever been abused, don’t hold that sh*t in. Say that sh*t so everybody can see it and it can’t be hidden anymore. Every time someone gets away with a crime, that leaves them available to hurt more people. Hell, if anyone ever felt like I had ever done anything to them, I’d want them...

Match #1: Bobby Lashley def. Humberto Carrillo – No Disqualification Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a wild battle that saw steel chairs come into play, The All Mighty picked Humberto Carrillo out of the sky and forced him to tap out to a fearsome Full Nelson.
My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was a fun way to watch people hurt each other for money. I wonder if John Stossel thinks that this part of the job is fake? Bl and Hc didn’t get too intense with this plunder-fight, but at least they didn’t make out at all…...

Joe Tessitore will be calling Saturday’s action for Tyson Fury’s very real fight with Deontay Wilder, a rematch of their Dec. 1, 2018 bout that resulted in a draw.
But the “Monday Night Football” play-by-play man and anchor of ESPN’s Top Rank Boxing events, has also been following Fury’s budding fake-fighting career with the WWE. Yeah, the “Holey Moley” guy is a legit WWE fan, and even dropped an unprovoked Undertaker reference on us while we talked Wilder-Fury II.
Tessitore told TheWrap he has “watched every second” of Fury’s brief time with Vince McMahon’s professional wrestling organization, which culminated in a match versus Braun Strowman at Saudi Arabia’s “Crown Jewel” pay-per-view on Halloween 2019.

David Arquette made an unlikely return to professional wrestling last year, and a documentary about his comeback is in the works called “You Cannot Kill David Arquette,” the film’s production company Xtr announced Thursday.
Arquette learned some basic wrestling moves back for his 2000 film “Ready to Rumble,” and at the time, he was even crowned a world champion from World Championship Wrestling as part of a marketing stunt. He became a perfect villain in the sport, and now nearly two decades later, he made the real wrestling circuit and competed in 19 different professional matches, some of which even left him bloodied as seen in this video.
David Darg, an Oscar-nominee for the documentary short film “Body Team 12,” directed “You Cannot Kill David Arquette,” and he’s been filming throughout Arquette’s tour for the last two years. Xtr, a new nonfiction film and TV studio, will be part of...

The WWE has suspended Robert Roode and Primo Colón for violating the company’s wellness policy.
The wrestlers will be put on the bench for 30 days each, as this is the first violation for both men. Roode and Colón are signed to the company’s “Friday Night SmackDown” brand.

Tito Ortiz and Alberto Del Rio are set to throw hands, feet and everything in between Saturday at a Combate Americas “Winner Take All” Mma pay-per-view event on Fite TV.
The offense on display there will be the real deal, not the “working” pro-wrestling punches that Del Rio so famously threw in his days as WWE Champion. Don’t count him out, however — Patrón has a pretty impressive professional mixed martial arts record of 9-5.
Former Ufc Light Heavyweight Champion Ortiz is 20-12 in the sport that he helped bring to the mainstream masses, but the Huntington Beach Bad Boy also has some professional wrestling experience. We asked both men about the challenge of going back and forth between firing off real punches in the cage and fake ones in the squared circle, and which transition is the harder one.

Welcome back folks. So, being a fan of wrestling means you see the same conversations and discussions going on between fans, discussions that never really change. In all the time I’ve been watching pro-wrestling, for twenty-seven years, the question “what’s the best PPV ever” has come up. It’s all about opinion, really. It’s all about choice. What one wrestling fan likes, another wrestling fan might hate, and visa versa. I, however, like to make things difficult for myself, and as seen as we now have the WWE Network (wonder how much it costs…) at our disposal, a wonderful and deep service, I can easily revisit a whole bunch of shows and compile a list of what I, personally, think are the ten best WWE (or WWF) Pay-per-views ever. I won’t talk about Ecw or WCW here, or New Japan Pro Wrestling, or Aew or any other promotion.

Kayfabe died a long time ago, which is to say that everyone is in on the secret of professional wrestling — and the wrestlers themselves no longer pretend otherwise. Even so, this blurring of the lines between reality and illusion belies the industry’s real secret: What goes on behind the scenes has always been more interesting than what we actually see onscreen.
That’s the premise behind Viceland’s forthcoming docuseries “Dark Side of the Ring,” which examines some of the most infamous incidents in pro-wrestling. Smart marks may already be familiar with the tragic fate of the Von Erichs or Bruiser Brody’s suspicious death, but anyone who’s never stayed up all night to watch Wrestle Kingdom or obsessed over Dave Meltzer’s star ratings will surely find a lot of new insights here. “There was a period in the wrestling business where, if you were crazy onscreen,...

For years now, Dolph Ziggler has been one of the best in-ring performers in the WWE, although he rarely gets any credit for what he brings to the product. Do Not tease Seattle sports fans about their former — and still beloved — NBA franchise, the SuperSonics, moving to Oklahoma City in 2008. That’s a lesson WWE heels (the pro-wrestling term for bad guys) Kevin Owens and Elias learned Monday night on “Raw.”
During their live in-ring promo, Owens wondered aloud why their “WWE Super Showdown” opponents John Cena and Bobby Lashley are tag-teaming together. Admittedly, while they’re both baby-faces (the term for good guys), the pairing is a bit of an odd one.
“Kev, it doesn’t make sense, you know?” Elias jumped in. “It’s like having a basketball team in Seattle.”

That didn’t go over favorably, though that’s kind of Elias’ job. We can’t remember the last time we heard such loud and long-sustained booing at a pro-wrestling event.
