Director Frank Henenlotter is a cult horror legend. But after making the cult classics Basket Case, Brain Damage, Basket Case 2, Frankenhooker and finally, Basket Case 3, he disappeared. After 17 years in 2008, he returned and made another film, the black comedy (kinda) body horror Bad Biology. And now, almost another 17 years later again, Bad Biology is getting a 4K Uhd release from Severin Films.
Bad Biology, like the director’s previous work, is not a movie you’ll easily forget:
Driven by biological excess, a man and a woman search for sexual fulfilment, unaware of each other’s existence. Unfortunately, they eventually meet, and the bonding of these two very unusual human beings ends in a god awful love story.

The Trial of Mike Diana
Logline: Jailed for comics? “The Trial of Mike Diana” explores the untold story of the first Us artist charged with obscenity for his work — underground cartoonist Mike Diana.
Elevator Pitch:
Does Freedom of Speech mean anything when authorities see only obscenity? Does an artist’s vision matter when community standards conspire to suppress it? In a small town in Florida in 1994, Mike Diana learned that the answer was a resounding “no.”
His crime? Publishing a hand-made comic zine full of graphic, often hilarious confrontational art, meant to shock and disturb.

Fango got the scoop from the boys at Media Blasters that the company has picked up domestic rights to Frank Henenlotter’s Bad Biology. The movie marks the New York-based cult filmmaker’s first feature in over 15 years, since 1992’s Basket Case 3: The Progeny.
Scripted by Henenlotter and producer R.A. Thorburn, Bad Biology stars Charlee Danielson as Jennifer, a girl with a surplus of clitorides, and Anthony Sneed as Batz, a guy with an unusually large organ of his own; the FX were created by Henenlotter regular Gabe Bartalos (for more of the outrageous details, see our review here). Exact release plans—including whether the film will go theatrical before its DVD release—have yet to be confirmed, but it’ll arrive in early 2010, and we’ll bring you updates as we hear ’em. "We didn't want to make a normal movie," Frank Henenlotter said of himself and producer/co-writer/rapper R.A. "The Rugged Man" Thorburn, introducing Bad Biology at the 2008 Philadelphia Film Festival. "We wanted something that was just wrong." And to paraphrase the popular saying, if going against the usual genre grain is wrong, who wants to be right? Bad Biology marks the welcome and long-overdue return (after 16 years without a feature) of one of the most unique and committed visions in independent horror, one whose underground sensibilities clearly haven't mellowed with age. If anything, Bad Biology is even more deranged than his previous works, and where sex was just one element or an undercurrent in the likes of Frankenhooker and Brain Damage, here the carnal takes center stage.
Jennifer (Charlee Danielson) is a New York City photographer with a penchant for quite twisted and murderous imagery that nonetheless has nothing on her personal life.

Acclaimed shlock-horror director Frank Henenlotter (the Basket Case trilogy, Frankenhooker, Brain Damage) makes a deliciously perverse and hugely welcome return to outrageously repulsive form with his first film in 16 years, Bad Biology, a bizarre and twisted story of a genitally-endowed young woman's search for sexual fulfilment.
Opening with the voice-over line, "I was born with seven clits," the film introduces us to Jennifer (Charlee Danielson), an insatiable nymphomaniac whose multi-pronged sexual organ has given her a constant craving for penile stimulation. Unfortunately, the sexual satisfaction Jennifer seeks is proving very hard to find. Worse, each disappointing sexual encounter she experiences results in a two-hour pregnancy period that produces an always-unwanted mutant baby.
Unknown to Jennifer, just across town lies the solution to her frustration in the form of a young man called Batz (Anthony Sneed), whose own sexual shortcomings have led him to inject growth steroids directly into his penis.

Frank Henenlotter: 2008 NY Horror Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient.
Bad Biology: Best Feature Film, Best Special Effects.
Unlike zombie films where agreed upon laws and rules govern the plot’s trajectory (head-shot = death, bite = infection), Henenlotter’s films are seemingly lawless, and therefore completely rhizomic and anarchistic in nature. This means that Henelotter’s films obey only the laws of Henenlotter and therefore can project out in any and all directions. If Romero is a Puritan then Henenlotter is the antinomian par excellence.
Try this: Henenlotter’s latest film Bad Biology is the story of Jennifer (Charlee Danielson) who is blessed/cursed with having clitorii buried throughout her body (seven alone inside her vagina), which allows her to experience seven times the pleasure of any other woman.
