David Hudson is an Emmy Award winning creative executive with more than two decades experience in creating content for both television and digital platforms.
David is currently Head of Original Programming for the new Scripps Television Network (ION, Bounce, Laff, Court TV, Mystery, Grit, Defy, Doozy, Newsy) which includes oversight and creation of Movies, Scripted Series, Limited Series and Specials. Prior to his current role at Scripps, Hudson served as Senior Vice President for TBS and TNT developing and overseeing late night, reality and special event programming.
Hudson was responsible for oversight of all late-night programming including Conan, Lopez Tonight, The Pete Holmes Show and Deon Cole's Black Box. Additionally, he led the production, creative development and oversight of specials for TBS and TNT, such as the Screen Actors Guild Awards®, the Emmy®-winning AFI Life Achievement Award (Outstanding Variety Special, 2014), Christmas in Washington on TNT and all original content for the Las Vegas and Chicago Comedy Festivals.
Hudson has a lengthy history of successfully producing alternative programming and Specials for the likes of HBO, FOX, Paramount Studios, NBC, TLC, TBS, TNT and is known for being a strategic, collaborative, dynamic and innovative executive with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Hudson has met with extraordinary success in shaping concepts to become relevant, sustainable and award winning while continually focused on increased viewership, demographics, revenue and market share.
Hudson is a graduate of Emerson College in Boston and a graduate of The John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management's Executive Leadership Development Program at the University of California, Los Angeles. Hudson is credited with a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special and was named a Next Generation Leader by NAMIC in 2010. Ultimately his pride and joy comes from his three daughters, Alexandra, Asha and Anya.
