The fate of American Auto is still up in the air, but NBC has confirmed the fate of half-hour comedies Grand Crew and Young Rock. Grand Crew, starring Echo Kellum, Nicole Byer, Aaron Jennings, Justin Cunningham, Carl Tart, and Grasie Mercedes, is closing shop after just two seasons. The third season of Young Rock – based on the life of Dwayne Johnson and starring/executive produced The Rock – is the series’ final season, as NBC has opted not to renew the comedy for season four.
Filling one of the now vacated primetime slots will be St. Denis Medical, a new mockumentary-style comedy that’s just been given a series order by the network. NBC’s announcement of the scheduling moves included this description of the new show: “A mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed...

Luke Hawx is getting the best of both worlds. First, as a pro wrestling veteran who performs regularly with his son Pj as Hawx Aerie on shows for the Nwa and his own company New Orleans WildKat Wrestling. And then continuing to build his acting profile on TV programs such as Heels and Young Rock. In the latter the 41-year-old portrays WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Hawx, who also popped up on Cobra Kai during season 5, is grateful for every opportunity. “Whenever you can take wrestling and put it on that mainstream entertainment scale, it’s a positive thing for everyone involved,” he told TV Insider. The star has managed to juggle all his commitments inside and outside the ring. Next up comes the Nwa Hard Times pay-per-view followed by Revolution Rumble, which is in partnership with Hawx’s own company WildKat Wrestling. He managed to carve...

For the stars and creative team of Heels, the Starz drama is more than just an inside look at the world of professional wrestling. Heels tackles universal themes that extend far beyond the the scripted fights and spandex-clad heroes and villains of Dwl for a deep and resonating story of passion, brotherhood, forgiveness and more.
“This show that Michael [Waldron] has created that we’ve all worked on is very deep,” said writer and showrunner Mike O’Malley during the show’s TCA panel on Thursday.
Penned by Waldron and O’Malley, Heels follows brothers Jack Spade (Stephen Amell) and Ace Spade (Alexander Ludwig) who seek to bring back their family-owned indie wrestling promotion and carry on their father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.
