Erik Armando Alvarez
- Actor
ERIK ARMANDO ALVAREZ is a first generation American, having immigrant parents hailing from Sinaloa and Tijuana, Mexico. Being born and raised in San Diego, California, Erik spent much of his time between Tijuana and San Diego. He is bi-lingual; a native Spanish speaker.
Boxing was Erik's first passion. He found success in the amateur ranks, winning various national titles. In his twenties, Erik made the move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of professional boxing. Later, an injury derailed his goal of winning a World Title, but not before making a name for himself as a competitor, teammate and cornerman in the boxing world.
It was during this time that acting found Erik. Starting in the commercial arena, Erik was a natural and immediately began booking national commercials. He dedicated his focus on acting in television and film.
Grateful for his lessons learned in the boxing ring, Erik transitioned his work ethic and love of the bright lights to acting. Erik quickly landed his first recurring role as 'Sonny' on Amazon Studios' "I LOVE DICK'', starring Kevin Bacon and Kathryn Hahn. Since then, Erik has appeared on numerous popular series such as SHAMELESS, SNOWFALL, BROOKLYN-NINE-NINE, ANIMAL KINGDOM, THE ROOKIE, STAR TREK: PICARD and others. He is managed by Sue Leibman/Barking Dog Entertainment.
