Christina Karis is an African-American film and television actress who hails from the small town of Clanton, Alabama.
She most recently joined the NBC hit spinoff Law and Order: Organized Crime, co-starring as Dana Wheatly, a deceptively charming mob boss' daughter, opposite Dylan McDermott. She has had the pleasure of sharing the screen with Don Cheadle, Ewan McGregor (Miles Ahead), Helen Hunt, Paul Reiser (Mad About You), and boasts a plethora of television credits including This is Us, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Queen of the South, The Resident, and Queen Sugar.
Christina has been tirelessly honing her craft for over a decade, obtaining both BFA and MFA degrees in Theatre Arts and Acting, respectively. Counting Dorothy Dandridge, Elenora Duse, Viola Davis, Nicole Kidman, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep as inspirations, Christina hopes to achieve a level of artistry where the "self" disappears, and therein remains but a humble servant of the art. She believes acting is a gift from God and hers to give away to the world. She is a Christian and credits her faith and family as the greatest joys of her life.
