Courtney Sara Bell
- Actress
- Producer
- Writer
Born and bred in Los Angeles, Courtney is one of the rare natives
pursuing an entertainment career.
While she had an agent for a minute at the tender age of three, things really picked up in early Junior High. She tried to secure another agent, but again and again was told she looked too old and was too tall for her age (at 11, she was called back for a 14 year old role and no one even blinked).
Courtney was accepted to the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (like the school in FAME), and that's where her real acting training began. She went on to UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television, majoring in Acting. While she was there, she became one of two heads of Theatre Underground, an organization that helped find spaces and funding for student produced pieces, including Theatrefest, a massive 72 hour festival which crammed as many shows into as many spaces as possible, at all hours (including several of her own productions).
Since graduation, she's landed a number of independent films. She was also proud to produce and star as Evelyn in a production of Neil Labute's "The Shape of Things", and hopes to continue to raise the bar for theater in Los Angeles as both producer and actor. She is an executive at Theatre Unleashed, an equity waiver company in North Hollywood, where she both helps to run the company and plays a wide range of roles onstage. She is also a frequent producer of short films and new media projects.
In 2013, she married creature and costume concept artist Jerad Marantz.
She finally feels that her age, height, and looks are a match, there's no stopping her now.
