Joe, along with brothers Willie, Lester and George are founding members of the Los Angeles Rock Scene. After years of playing the Folk Festival Circuit, The Chambers Brothers became plugged into a burgeoning West Coast psychedelic rock movement.
Their big break came in 1967, signing a multi-album deal with Columbia Records. The title song to their debut "Time Has Come Today" co-written by Joe along with brother Willie, gave the band a #11 Billboard smash and a global following.
After The Chambers Brothers first run ended in 1977, Joe recorded Levi Strauss commercials and session work with Lee Oskar and Buzzy Linhart. He continued to tour with The Chambers Brothers and The San Francisco All-stars throughout the decades.
Joe remains very active in Los Angeles, performing with The Chambers Brothers at high profile clubs and festivals. The Chambers Brothers music continues to be used in television and film.
