- David was raised in Lincoln Park NJ and credits his family's support of creativity for his love of filmmaking.
David initially majored in Political Science at Montclair State University in NJ but dropped out after taking several filmmaking and acting classes. Turning his sights on studying acting David trained with a multitude of teachers but credits Laurence Gewirtz, James Price, and Harry O'Reilly for the most impressionable experiences.
Although founding and being the President of the independent film company Feenix Films in 2008, David also returned to school and received his BA in Psychology with a minor in Political Science and later attended Fordham University obtaining a Masters Degree in Social Work with a focus on Therapy and Administration. He continued to develop and pursue opportunities as a director, writer, and producer during this time.
David received a Gold Remi at 2016's Worldfest Houston in the Crime/Drama category for "Clandestine". He also received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor for "Clandestine" at Worldfest for the role of DEA Agent Tom Mackenrowe. The film also received a Best Actress Win for Kate McGrath (Julia), a Best Actor Nomination for Nick DeMatteo (Cooper), and a Best Supporting Nomination for Chris Ryan (Billman). "The Basement" (2012), a short David directed, received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Leslie Coplin at SoCal Film Fest. "Dealer" (2012), a film David was a Producer and actor on, received an Audience Favorite Win at the FlipsideTV Film Festival. David has also been nominated for Best Screenplay for his first full length script, the original "Nicky Newark" (2011) as well as receiving an honorable mention as Director for the film (the film being his first full length directorial debut) at LA Reel film Fest.

- Founded Feenix Films LLC in September of 2008 with fellow actors Nick DeMatteo (Vice-President) and Janine Laino (Treasurer). Kate McGrath joined within a few months and took on the role of board member and Business Director. The premise behind the film company was to make projects with resources and avoid the trap of "development hell".
