A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and with director Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus now in theatres, we have decided to celebrate by taking a look back at one of the least popular entries in the Alien franchise, the crossover sequel Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (watch it Here). You can hear all about it in the video embedded above!
Directed by the Brothers Strause from a screenplay by Shane Salerno, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem has the following synopsis: Residents of Gunnison, Colorado, are caught up in the crossfire when two deadly extraterrestrial species bring their longstanding conflict to Earth. On the one side, nearly indestructible Aliens; on the other, a lone Predator whose mission is to wipe out all traces of the Alien infestation from Earth, no matter who gets in the way.
The film stars Steven Pasquale, Reiko Aylesworth, John Ortiz,...

It’s easy to tell someone we’ll do anything for family when it’s what we’re supposed to say. That’s the expectation. That’s normalcy. And the majority of us never have to test those words anyway. We don’t all weigh the risk to our lives by donating an organ or financial security by re-mortgaging a home. But those acts do loom above us. So does tough love. “You want to live under our roof? Then abide by our rules.” Enforcing that line is where things get hard because it hurts to put the group above any individual. It just might be the first step to their salvation, though, since you’re neither giving up nor closing the door on a return. You’re simply doing what you think is right and necessary.
Writer/director Christian Sparkes knows such a decision isn’t without regret, however.

"Run, dad! Run!" Vertical Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie crime thriller titled Hammer, made by Canadian filmmaker Christian Sparkes. This premiered at the Whistler Film Festival last fall, and will be available to watch on VOD in June. Will Patton stars as a father who faces a personal crisis when he discovers his estranged son fleeing a botched drug deal. The two embark on a violent odyssey that grapples with themes of fatherhood, family and fate. Also starring Mark O'Brien, Ben Cotton, Dayle McLeod, Lara Jean Chorostecki, Connor Price, and Curtis Caravaggio. This trailer shows a lot in it, perhaps the only way to get people interested in this, since there's quite a few colorful criminal characters to follow. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Christian Sparkes' Hammer, direct from YouTube: A father faces a personal crisis when he discovers his estranged son fleeing a botched drug deal.
