Spoiler Alert: Reading further will reveal spoilers about the recently released third season of “Outer Banks”, so proceed with caution.
The third season of Netflix hit “Outer Banks” dropped last week, and one of the season’s biggest plot twists involves Ward Cameron (played by Charles Estes), father of Sarah (Madelyn Cline).
While Ward has been a nemesis for the Pogues in their quest for gold, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to save his daughter’s life when Ryan (Lou Ferrigno Jr.), henchman of villainous Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen), threatens to kill Sarah, leading Ward to lunge at Ryan and send them both careening off the edge of a cliff to their deaths.
For Esten, best known for playing Deacon Claybourne on “Nashville”, Ward’s heroic exit was a fitting one.
“It’s been very gratifying to me because it’s not often that the bad guy gets any kind of emotional arc.

Will the Pogues ever catch a break?
Our favorite characters were happily lost at the end of Outer Banks Season 2.
They were ready to live out the rest of their days in a corner of the world, well away from everyone else.
But this is TV, and there has to be drama.
Netflix unveiled a wild first look at Outer Banks Season 3 on Thursday, and we think it's fair to say this will be the most dramatic season yet.
One of the most significant moments showcases John B with his presumed-dead dad, Big John.
That will be a huge moment, for sure, but in true Outer Banks fashion, there are far more pressing things on the agenda.
We also see the Pogues in the city of El Dorado, but what takes them there?
The trailer doesn't give that much away, but we have to assume treasure will be the driving force here.

The Pogues just can’t manage to stay out of trouble, as seen in the first trailer for Outer Banks season three.
The Netflix drama series’ upcoming third season, debuting Feb. 23, involves the underdog clique discovering that a peaceful life on their newfound desert paradise, nicknamed “Poguelandia,” won’t last long. With a coveted golden idol putting them back on the treasure hunt, the pals find themselves again on the run from Ward (Charles Esten) and Rafe (Drew Starkey), although the nefarious father-son pair seem to have friction of their own.

The Pogues return to Netflix next month.
Outer Banks Season 3 finally has a premiere date, and it's soon.
Netflix revealed Tuesday that all ten episodes would be available to stream on February 23.
Outer Banks Season 2 wrapped with several big cliffhangers, but what's on tap for Season 3?
"After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, Season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home," Netflix teases.
"Officially deemed Poguelandia, the island's newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling."
"But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives," the logline adds.
"They're broke and far from home, they can't trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge,...

It looks like the kids of Obx made it back home — or at least off that deserted island. On Tuesday, Netflix announced that the 10-episode third season of “Outer Banks” will premiere on February 23, also unveiling multiple new photos and an official synopsis:

As we saw in Outer Banks’ second season, the gaggle of teens known as the Pogues has taken up residence on an abandoned island they’ve deemed Poguelandia. And judging by the teaser for Season 3 — a promo Netflix unveiled during its Tudum fan event on Saturday, September 24 — the Pogues’ time on the island will be anything but idyllic. Think: a wild dog chase, a careening camper van, a dangerous cliff dive, a shocking elevator plunge, and violence aplenty. “My pops always said, nothing good comes easy. Nothing worthy is good,” John B (Chase Stokes) says in a voiceover in the promo. “The question is, what are you willing to do to win? How far will you go to win to keep your treasure?” Netflix In June, Deadline revealed three new cast members joining Outer Banks for Season 3. Andy McQueen (Station Eleven) will play Carlos Singh, “a Caribbean Don who is intelligent,...

The Pogues may be Mia, but they're still getting into much trouble.
Netflix unveiled the first teaser for Outer Banks Season 3 Saturday during its Tudum Global Fan Event.
The streaming service also confirmed the series will not be back until 2023.
Boo. Hiss.
Then again, the series consistently delivers high-octane action scenes that make us question our sanity, so they can have all the time in the world to perfect them.
Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten will be back as series regulars, while Carlacia Grant has been upped to series regular.
Andy McQueen has been added to the cast as Carlos Singh, a ruthless Caribbean Don on a treasure hunt of his own.
Lou Ferrigno Jr. is set to play Ryan, Singh's top security officer, and someone who will probably have various tussles with the Pogues.
Fiona Palomo will play Sofia,...

We pledge allegiance to Poguelandia.
John B (Chase Stokes) and the “Outer Banks” crew are back in Netflix’s first teaser for the series’ third season, and it seems they’ve finally found some peace on an island they call Poguelandia. The sky is so blue that it’s almost turquoise, the sand is soft and it looks like the gang has set up their own little sun-soaked world far away from Ward (Charles Esten), Rafe (Drew Starkey) and the Sheriff’s Department.
But, of course, nothing is as it seems. Soon, the trailer heats up, showing Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kie (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) running away from wild dogs and participating in car chases as they continue to search for treasure. There’s also lots of fighting, including with Ward and Rafe, and the return of Cleo (Carlacia Grant) and John B’s resurrected-from-the-dead father,...
