Eileen C.K. Shafer is a multi-award winning harpist composer with a passion for bringing the joy of the harp to others. As an avid performing artist, she puts her heart into all of her artistic endeavors, from a quiet recording studio to a live audience. She first fell in love with the stage at age four during her first dance recital and soon thereafter made her uncredited on-camera debut in the music video for "Slug Bug" by kid's singer Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove. At age nine she bought her first harp, which started her on the road to a harpist's career.
Before choosing the harp as a career, Eileen began her first career as a professional clown and family entertainer at the young age of thirteen, which refined her knack for comedic acting. At home on stage and on camera, she has taken on many comedic roles over the years and has brought more serious roles to life with equal confidence.
Being a filmmaker herself, Eileen has a special insight into what filmmakers want out of their film's score in both style and mood. She takes special interest in adding extended techniques to tracks where applicable, leading to new and exciting sounds alongside the traditional sounds of the harp. Eileen's stylistic approach is aided by her experience in Therapeutic Music, giving gentler styles an expressive calmness with her playing. In her spare time, Eileen can often be found drawing, sewing garments, dancing, acting in theatrical productions, or pursuing her long-time hobby of producing her own short films.
