Thomas Ian Nicholas, who starred in 1993's beloved baseball flick Rookie of the Year, threw out the first pitch for the Cubs vs. Braves game in Chicago. Nicholas, who has been more visible lately as Kevin from the American Pie series (the most recent of which was 2012's American Reunion), was helping the Cubs celebrate Wrigley Field's 100th anniversary, which is this season. Nicholas, 34, and wife Colette Marino have a 2½-year-old son, Nolan River. Though Nicholas continues to act, he's focused more on his music lately - his most recent release is the Ep Security.

There’s a new, sweet little slice of American Pie on the scene: Thomas Ian Nicholas is a dad.

The actor’s wife Colette gave birth to their first child, Nolan River, on Thursday, Oct. 20, his rep tells People exclusively.

Nolan weighed in at 7 lbs., 4 oz., is 20 inches long and arrived after 15 hours of labor.

“The first thing that Nolan did when he entered the world was grab one of the doctor’s tools out of his hands,” Nicholas, 31, tells People. “We might just have a future doctor in our midst!”
