- Dennis DeYoung was ousted from the band in 1999 and has never been invited to return.
- They had tremendous success in America, but never caught on in the UK, where only one song reached the Top 40: "Babe", which reached #6.
- The band started out with a Progressive Rock sound, but they broke through with a more mainstream Arena Rock sound.
- Their music has never been popular with music critics, with some giving savage reviews. They eventually stopped sending out review copies, issuing a statement that read, "The band doesn't enjoy being torn apart in print and we're not going to help them do it".
