Joel Burman was born in 1978 in Piteå, Sweden. Studied media and
communications (Luleå University) before taking a course in film
science (Örebro University) in the fall of 2000. Enrolled to the
exchange program between Örebro University and Washburn University
(Topeka, Kansas) where Joel studied political science, film and writing. In
2002 he returned to Sweden where he studied practical filmmaking at
Molkom Folkhögskola. In 2005 Joel got accepted to the Filmproduction
program at the University Collage of Film, Radio, Television and
Theatre in Stockholm (Dramatiska Institutet).
