Early 2022, Danny Castro directed and produced feature film Hot Cheetos for Layla with his brother Ishmael. The film stars Alex Cox (Repo Man, 1984), Biff Wiff (Everything Everywhere All at Once, I Think You Should Leave), Belle Adams (Bless This Mess), musician Mondo Cozmo, and Calvin McMillion.
In the summer of 2022, he produced on Arnon Manor's feature directorial debut Quarter and on an upcoming horror feature film by Dylan and Allisyn Snyder.
In 2023, Danny was Executive Producer on the TV show Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction starring Jonathan Frakes. He was also one of the directors on the series, directing alongside his brother again. The show filmed over 9 weeks, in 40 locations over 40 days. He made it possible to cast Danny Trejo, Casper Van Dien, Corey Feldman, Connor Esterson, and more.
Background: Danny has a masters degree in philosophy (CSUDH) and two bachelors degrees (Sociology and English). Before working in film, Danny owned a music venue in San Diego for over a decade and booked national tours for his band Sam, the Hero.
