Marc Thomas Trottier was born and raised just outside of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. A lifelong martial artist, Marc also trained at the world-renowned Tristar Gym during this time, alongside Georges St-Pierre. As an undefeated amateur fighter and grappling champion, Trottier was on the brink of turning pro in MMA before deciding to focus purely on an acting career.
Marc made his feature film debut in Decoys (2004), playing the role of Bobby Johnson, the all-star captain of the college hockey team; and has since appeared in films such as 3 Needles (2005), 300 (2006) (Directed by Zack Snyder), Sticks and Stones (2008), the 2010 TIFF opening film Score: A Hockey Musical (2010), and 300: Rise of an Empire (2014).
On television, some of Trottier's credits include roles on MTV's Undressed (1999), The Bridge (2010), King (2011), Mohawk Girls (2010), and 19-2 (2014). He also guest-starred as the supervillain Hardhat on Arrow (2012), and starred as one of the series leads, Sir Rayne, on the international TV series produced by Cirque du Soleil, Big Top Academy (2018).
More recently, he ventured into the realm of rom-coms, playing the ever-charming Theo in Planning for Joy (2022).
Beyond acting, Marc is passionate about all aspects of filmmaking. He has explored writing, directing, and producing, showcasing his versatility and dedication to the industry. His leading-man presence, combined with exceptional physical ability and discipline, gives Trottier a remarkable range as an actor.
