Shalin Thakur was born on October 27, 1991 in Shillong, Meghalaya, to the family of Group Captain Shakti Singh Thakur and Suraksha Thakur, Indian Air Force. He is a Theatre actor, who works in Indian Film Industry. He had a very varied upbringing. He started his education at Kendriya Vidyalaya Jaisalmer Rajasthan, having completed Twelfth grade in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh. He decided to become a software engineer. He worked for an MNC UST Global for almost 2 Years, later decided to lean towards his creative self and moved to Mumbai to Learn Acting.
He spent his formative years in Mumbai and Started doing theatre and have been a part of Thespo Festival at Prithvi Theatre and later graduated from Barry John Acting Studio with a Diploma Degree.
He appeared in Various Short Films Namely "Recipe" which appeared in bebop film festival as well as Pocket films. He played Billal in a Ullu Original Web series Kirdaar Directed by Shoyeb Shaikh.
He also worked as a Casting Assistant under Casting Director Shanoo Sharma at Yash Raj Films for Bunty Babli 2 and jayeshbhai jordaar.
He is also a part of Rajshri Productions Upcoming Film "Uunchai" directed by Sooraj Barjatya starring Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher and Parineeti Chopra.
