As many of our favorite television shows are receiving cancelation orders, from Station 19 to Blue Bloods to series that barely make it out of the gate, like Still Star-Crossed or Prodigal Son, it's refreshing to find shows with renewal orders.
It's rare to see new shows that offer something different when it seems like everything has been done, especially among all the remakes and reboots.
Related: These Cancellations Still Haunt Us
However, The Irrational managed to corner a vacant market we didn't even know existed.
Sure, it's a police procedural show.
But it also works in our love of pop psychology with a bit of personal drama to spice things up.

You’re not gone until you’re gone. At least that’s what I told people when they realized it took eight seasons for “Fear the Walking Dead” to wrap up.
“Fear” bested predictions and became one of the longest-running television spin-offs currently on air. While ratings dwindled and characters were written off over the years, it maintained a decent cult following — some tuning in for Alycia Debnam-Carey, who came into her own as an actress on the show following “The 100,” while others begrudgingly watched to keep up with the “Walking Dead” universe, after characters like Morgan (Lennie James), Dwight (Austin Amelio) and Sherry (Christine Evangelista) were transferred from the original series.
A key to its success, “Fear” never shied away from a soft reboot. Every season tackled a new approach to its storytelling, sometimes in the span of a few episodes. Early seasons of “Fear” felt migratory even,...

Well, this might be the best way to either get to know someone — or ensure it’ll be the last time these two people spend time together. Alec does get off to a good start, giving her tulips (“I figure you get a lot of roses”) and thanking her for joining him. “Anything for science,” she says, adding, “though a 24-hour date experiment might be the most convoluted excuse a man has used to get me into bed.” Alec insists “that’s not the objective,” explaining, “Anyone can make a good impression over an hour or two after a couple cocktails, and technically this isn’t an experiment,...

With any series in The Walking Dead universe, we've been taught to expect death at every turn.
But saying goodbye to the best characters doesn't get any easier.
Going into Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 5, Grace would inevitably succumb to the zombie infection spreading through her body, but Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 has explored the possibility of using radiation to slow down the inevitable.
There was always that glimmer of hope Grace would somehow pull through because she's beaten the odds at every turn, and look at Finch. He's been thriving since Shrike got him bitten.
Grace's final journey was filled with emotion because, regardless of how we feel about the show's quality, she's been one of the best-written characters since her introduction on Fear the Walking Dead Season 5.
Karen David brought Grace to life to perfection, and it's a real shame we won't have Grace or Karen...

Last month, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear the Walking Dead, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season. Now cinematographer David Morrison has taken to Instagram to mark the fact that filming is underway on the series finale. Morrison said, “Been looking forward to this for a while. Years in the making. Let’s do this!” The series finale is being directed by Michael E. Satrazemis, a franchise regular who has directed seventeen episodes of The Walking Dead, twenty episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, and three episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead.
The Walking Dead wrapped up its eleven season run on AMC last year, so it seems fitting that Fear the Walking Dead, its first companion series, is following its example and wrapping up as well. Especially since there are a bunch of new spin-offs to look forward...

For years, One Tree Hill fans watched Tyler Hilton play musician Chris Keller. In his new Christmas movie for CBS, now he’s the one managing artists. In When Christmas Was Young, premiering Sunday, December 18, Hilton’s Luke is in need of a hit for his only remaining client, only to fall for the gifted singer-songwriter (Karen David) from whom he needs to secure the rights to a Christmas song. Hilton discusses why he had fun with this film, compares Luke to Chris Keller, and shares whether you’ll hear him sing (as he has in previous Christmas movies). What drew you to this character and movie? Tyler Hilton: I love these kind of characters. There is something about a totally sure of himself, cocky kind of dude getting put in his place and learning the lesson that knocks him down a peg that I love. I don’t know what it is about that.
