Mariano Calasso is the co-creator of Telemundo's most successful original franchise series "El Señor de los Cielos". The #1 hit series and Emmy Award Winner that gained record ratings in the American market, regardless of language. He is also the creator and head writer of the series "Guerra de Idolos". Previously, at Televisa networks in Mexico City, he was responsible for the creative development and production of TV Formats on the International Branded Entertainment area. Prior to Televisa, Calasso was Director of Entertainment Content for Telemundo Network. He was responsible for monitoring all on-air content, ensuring an overall consistency throughout all Telemundo programming. Also in Telemundo he was Executive Producer of "Premios Billboard a la Musica Latina" (2007 & 2008). Before Telemundo, Calasso was Director of Creative Development for Univision Networks where he was in charge of all creative programming development for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision, where he created the reality franchise "Nuestra Belleza Latina". Mariano joined Univision, from Promofilm, where he had been Vice President of Non-Fiction Projects (Caracas, Venezuela / Miami, Florida); responsible for all non-fiction programs development and production.
