"I don't want to try to control the trauma, okay, I want to kill it." Raven Banner has revealed a very early promo trailer for an indie sci-fi film titled Raptus, the latest from filmmaker Bennet De Brabandere. This project doesn't have a release set because it's still being shopped by Raven Banner at the European Film Market this month, and this promo trailer will hopefully give it some extra attention. In the wake of a savage attack, Sarah Mathis orders a new form of android therapy called Raptus, and reveals a path to recovery with twisted surprises. It's about a "therapy" android robot that gets pushed too far in her recovery and their relationship starts to spiral out of control. This footage gives a few major teases as to where she'll go with it (him?). Raptus stars Ksenia Solo as Sarah, and Nolan Gerard Funk as the android, with Zion Forrest Lee,...

Netflix is parting ways with two of its freshman dramas.
The streaming service canceled Partner Track and The Imperfects.
Partner Track launched on August 26 but failed to garner much traction.
The series followed Ingrid Yun (Arden Cho), a 1st generation Korean American and the first lawyer in her family, who experiences the trials and tribulations of excelling at the prestigious (but old school) law firm, Parsons Valentine.
Bradley Gibson (Power Book II: Ghost), Alexandra Turshen (Ray Donovan), Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), and Rob Heaps (Good Girls) also starred.
The cast was rounded out by Nolan Gerard Funk (The Flight Attendant), Matthew Rauch (Banshee), and Roby Attal (The Haunting of Bly Manor).
Unfortunately, the series ended on a big cliffhanger, meaning it joins the ranks of Netflix's other one-and-done series that failed to get conclusions.

The most frustrating turn in any romantic comedy is when the leading lady and/or man becomes a jerk. It’s a crucial moment — necessary, even — but it’s always the hump you have to endure in order to get to the part where everyone learns their lesson, embraces their truth, and kisses their hot crush to the triumphant swell of an impossibly catchy pop song that will nonetheless fade from memory by the time the credits roll. Without that annoying blip of tension, that payoff won’t be half as sweet — or, truth be told, half as earned.
Such is the conundrum facing “Partner Track,” Netflix’s frothy new comedy based on Helen Wan’s novel about lawyers fighting tooth and nail to become partner, if only they could stop getting distracted by each other. Ingrid (Arden Cho) is the firm’s determined golden girl, especially because she’s...

Netflix’s upcoming romantic dramedy series “Partner Track,” set at a Manhattan-based white-shoe law firm, has been described as “Sex and the City” meets “Suits,” but for star Arden Cho the series is unlike any other that she’s seen on television. That’s because the story centers on a first-generation Korean American merger and acquisitions lawyer, Ingrid Yun (Cho), as she navigates everything from forbidden romance to microaggressions at the male-dominated company — something Cho said is hard to come by in shows about single 20-something women in New York City.
“Ingrid just sticks out to begin with,” Cho told TheWrap. “She is an Asian American woman, and there is some diversity at the firm but it’s very clearly noted. You’ve just got, ‘Oh, we’ve got a couple of people of color. Let’s stick them together, and that’s your diversity,‘ which is something we see happening in the world.

Grace Covington (Scout Taylor-Compton) wants nothing more than to find her birth parents. We’re told her former foster child has been looking for quite some time, perhaps helped in part by her Princeton-graduate, Hamptons-vacationing jock of a boyfriend’s (Nolan Gerard Funk’s Jack) money. Well, she finally has a lead thanks to the owner (King Orba’s Frank) of an old plantation down in Charleston—apparently near where she was born. He’s invited her to come stay and hear what he knows to point her in the right direction. Jack agrees to accompany her despite seeming like the kind of guy who’s never gone below the Mason-Dixon line in his life, declaring his undying love before throwing her to the wolves that are his parents on the way down.

For the first official week of horror and sci-fi home media releases in the month of April, we don’t have a ton of titles coming out, but the ones that are being released on April 5th are a pretty damn good bunch of movies all the same. Probably the biggest movie arriving on multiple formats this Tuesday is Scream (2022) from the Radio Silence crew, so if you missed it in theaters, now is the perfect opportunity to be able to catch up with everything that happened in Woodsboro.
Other Blu-ray and DVD releases for April 5th include a 4K edition of I Spit on Your Grave (1978), The Long Night, Vicious Fun, The Ice Demon, a 2-Movie Scream collection, and 60 Seconds to Live!

In director Rich Ragsdale’s The Long Night, Scout Taylor-Compton stars as a woman engaged to a rich city lad (Nolan Gerard Funk) and on the threshold of a much larger life than she could have imagined growing up in a Deep South orphanage. She’s long been trying to learn who her birth parents were, and as the film opens she gets her first solid lead, requiring the couple to drive to the investigator’s isolated house in the boonies. What could possibly go wrong?
Upon arrival, their host is missing but he’d left the key for them with permission to settle in. A few things start to feel a bit hinky, including the intrusion of a couple of large snakes. But once the sun sets, the real mayhem starts to kick in.

The day after “The Flight Attendant” season finale premiered on HBO Max, the streaming service announced Friday it was renewing the Kaley Cuoco-starring series, which appears to be one of the nascent streaming service’s first-word-of-mouth hits. The stylish, eight-episode dramedy thriller premiered to strong reviews on Nov. 26, and ended its first season by tying up its central mystery, while also setting the table for further adventures for its lead character, Cassie Bowden (Cuoco). The announcement was made by Casey Bloys, chief content officer of HBO and HBO Max.
The show, based on Chris Bohjalian’s novel, was adapted by Steve Yockey, and is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Cuoco’s Yes, Norman Productions. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Cuoco and Yockey are executive producers, and Suzanne McCormack is co-executive producer.

HBO Max has renewed the Kaley Cuoco series The Flight Attendant for a second season, it was announced Friday by Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer, HBO and HBO Max.
The series, based on the book of the same name by bestselling author Chris Bohjalian, centers on alcoholic, globe-trotting flight attendant Cassie Bowen (Cuoco) who becomes embroiled in an espionage plot following her affair with a first class passenger, who winds up murdered after their night together. Flight Attendant was originally intended to be a limited series, but series creator and EP Steve Yockey knew there was more string he could pull upon.
The series finale that landed on the streamer this week leaves Cassie in a position to encounter more global intrigue, and Yockey teased some possibilities to us in our Season 1 finale interview with him yesterday.
