- Kara was mentored by Oscar nominated screenwriter Ivan Moffat. She received a Masters in Screenwriting from the MPW program at The University of Southern California where she studied under such greats as Syd Field, Shelley Berman, Hubert Selby Jr., Mel Shavelson, Steve Mazur, and Dr. James Ragan.
