Three-times world champion freestyle skier and James Bond stuntman who, on 18th May 1985, was injured during a routine training exercise on a trampoline in Farnham, Surrey, when he broke his neck and became paralysed from his shoulders down.
[on his 1985 trampolining accident] I was doing a double-twisting, double back somersault and I blacked out for a split second in mid-flight and it threw my orientation off. I came down on the trampoline bed and severed my fourth and fifth cervical that resulted in a spinal chord injury... I don't know if you ever come to terms with it you deal with it as best you can. It's with you every day whether you like it or not but you try and focus on your abilities rather than your inabilities.
