Laura Wetzler is the writer, producer, music composer, and director of the dramatic film: "What Happened at the Veterans Home?" which has won numerous awards on the film festival circuit. Laura has spent most of her career as a professional singer, songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist with 5 CDs to her credit, touring internationally in over 100 concerts a year. Laura holds a degree in music performance from Hofstra University where she was the Dorothy B. Hoag Scholar. Her music has appeared in the soundtrack of State of the Art: Art of the State, screened at the Whitney Museum. She studied at the HV Comedy School in Massachusetts and at the HB Studio in NYC, and she is a published member of the Straw Dogs Writers Guild. Laura was inspired to become a film maker out of a sense of outrage and grief, knowing it was the only art form that could explore the story of our crazy world today expansively enough. What Happened at the Veterans Home? is her first film.
