With over 50 years in the film industry, he has worked with numerous legendary filmmakers such as Norman Jewison, David O. Russel, David Gordon Green, Jon Turteltaub, Rob Reiner, and Felix Enrique Alcala. Owens studied film, stage, and television in Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles. He has 39 wins and 5 nominations as a film director, actor, screenwriter, producer, editor, & cinematographer, and has directed over 130 film projects. Owens is credited with roles in major motion pictures such as Last Vegas, LBJ, Our Brand Is Crisis, Selfie Shootout, and Dark Places. He has appeared on numerous television shows such as "Parks and Recreation," "Criminal Minds," "Adam Ruins Everything," "Walker, Texas Ranger," and much more. He successfully directed his own feature-films titled Project: Puppies for Christmas, starring John Ratzenberger, and 1 Interrogation, starring Tom Arnold. Owens proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
