Martin Ortega was born in Scarborough, Canada. Ortega-- born to El Salvadorean and Nicaraguan parents, was raised primarily by his father, a pianist, who would travel regularly with Martin by his side. Raised in London, Ontario, Martin would play a variety of sports and upon graduating high school, Martin went on to play football and study Film Studies at the University of Western Ontario.
After his time at UWO, Martin enrolled in the Acting for Screen & Stage program at Fanshawe College starting his path into acting. He has taken classes at prestigious studios such as AMAW Studios in Los Angeles and Fred Astaire Dance Studio in London, and is known for the stage play A Midsummer Nights Dream, and short films, Unconquered (Drew, 2023), and The Second (Ramos, Zhao, 2024).
Ortega's passion for acting is driven for the love of playfulness and entertainment and his love for cinema is rooted in a childhood of countless nights running through VHS tapes of some his favourite films.
