Donnavon Madaran

Donnavon Madaran is a Dutch actor with Indian-Surinamese roots born in Leidschendam-Voorburg, The Netherlands. He grew up in The Hague, where he got cast for the musical 'Mo & Juliet' at only 11 years old.
After having such an amazing work experience, Madaran decided to take acting classes at Youth Theatre School Rabarber, where he was selected to star in multiple musicals over several years.
In 2018 Madaran was accepted into the Talent Class of the Theatre Master (De Toneelmeester) in Amsterdam, which offers the most prestigious acting courses for young adults. Before Madaran knew it, he was taking classes from actors, directors and acting coaches Madaran has been looking up to his entire life. He dived more into character development, how to make performances, how to work with directors and how to maximize the use of a script and a character.
When Madaran is not on set, he studies Method Acting at the Method Acting Studio Amsterdam. His acting coach is Andre Landzaat, who is a member at the Actors Studio in Los Angeles and New York. Landzaat also taught at the Strasberg Institute and has shared work with Shelley Winters, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Elizabeth Taylor.
Madaran starred in many amazing projects, like for example Release, in which he played the warm, kind, open-minded and sensual Geo. This short film premiered at the Roze Filmdagen in Amsterdam, which is the biggest queer film festival in Amsterdam. He also starred in Esper, in which he played the lead; Dries. Esper premiered at the Limburg Film Festival.
The young actor was also to be seen in Out which premiered at Frameline in San Francisco, the most prestigious queer film festival in the world.
Nachtrood had its international debut at the Femme Filth Fest in Los Angeles and Hantu was shown at the Dutch Film Festival.
Besides acting, Madaran has been dancing for as long as he can remember. He was dancing on a competitive level and specializes in hip hop, commercial and heels. Madaran is very passionate about queer rights and women's rights, as he strives to have a positive influence on both.
