As a teenager, Demi Lovato would sit on her tour bus in tears, questioning why she felt so miserable despite adoring fans gathering outside her windows expressing their love for her. As she navigated the arduous path from child star to adulthood, her struggles escalated until the game-changing day she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
“I was so relieved I finally had a diagnosis [because] I spent so many years struggling,” Lovato, 30, told the Hollywood & Mind Summit at United Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday evening. “I didn’t know why I was a certain way and I was dealing with depression and such extreme lows when I seemingly had the world in front of me ripe with opportunities.”

Actress Hayley Hasselhoff has been charged with a DUI following an arrest in late December, reports RadarOnline.
According to the website, Los Angeles prosecutors formally filed the charges against former "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff's youngest daughter on Jan. 3, and she faces up to six months in jail if convicted.
A source revealed the 20-year-old, who appeared on the short-lived 2010 reality series "The Hasselhoffs," as well as the short-lived ABC Family series "Huge," is planning to fight the charges.
This isn't the first time the aspiring actress' last name has made alcohol-related headlines.
In 2007, her older sister Taylor recorded and uploaded a video of her father's drunken rant while eating a cheeseburger, as she pleaded with him to stop drinking and uploaded it to YouTube. In 2009, the actor allegedly was rushed to the hospital and treated for alcohol poisoning on multiple occasions, though his reps denied the reports.

The women's website Jezebel has started a petition calling for the ABC Family show Huge to be rescued. The series, which starred Nikki Blonsky and Hayley Hasselhoff, focused on a group of people at a weight-loss camp. However, it was cancelled by ABC Family earlier this week. Jezebel has now called for the programme to be saved and has praised the show for representing overweight people in a realistic way. "Entertainment comes in so many different forms: police dramas, hospital shows, teen soaps, spy thrillers... and overweight characters are few and far between," writer Dodai Stewart said. Referring to new sitcom Mike & Molly, she continued: "Fat people can be on a scripted show, as long as fat is the punchline. Fall TV schedule gorges on weight-loss shows
A day after ABC Family canceled its freshman series "Huge," Jezebel.com has started an online petition to save the weight-loss drama.
In the petition, Jezebel.com's Dodai Stewart argues that there are too few TV shows that feature overweight characters, and on the shows where fat characters do exist, they are typically treated as a punchline.
"'Huge' was different, of course, because although the show was about teenagers at a weight-loss camp, weight loss was actually just a fraction of the issues the kids (and adults) were dealing with," the petition reads. "The characters juggled dilemmas relating to crushes, self-confidence, popularity, rumors, toxic friendships, sexual urges, family drama, jealousy, embarrassment, sexual orientation, creativity, lying, cheating, rebellion, body odor, nerdiness and body image. In other words, it reminded us that fat people are people. Humans."

ABC Family has determined that "Huge" is not working for them. The teen series starring Nikki Blonsky and David Hasselhoff's daughter Hayley Hasselhoff has been canceled after one season which debuted over this summer.
"Huge" follows a group of teens from different backgrounds attending a weight loss camp as they embark on their individual journeys of self discovery. Although the weight-focused show started out pretty strong in the pilot, it suffered a rating decline by averaging 1.9 million viewers. This number is low when compared to that by ABC Family's other newbies "Pretty Little Liars" and "Melissa & Joey".

The show debuted to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic last June with 2.53 million viewers. ABC Family bragged that it was their biggest series launch to date among women 18-49 and second largest in adults 18-49 and women 18-34.

While fans of Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky may have been surprised to see her on Huge with no makeup, scraggly hair, and a cynical and sarcastic personality, the 21-year-old says she's "never felt more pretty in a role." Blonsky spoke to TVGuide.com about how she brings Will to life, and how Will's feelings for Ian (Ari Stidham) and keeping a secret for Amber (Hayley Hasselhoff) will affect them in Monday's season finale.

Getting your heart broken is no fun, but it may just be what Huge (TV) 's Amber needed. Last week, Camp Victory's resident pretty girl — though she doesn't think so herself — was dumped by hunky counselor George (Zander Eckhouse) barely two trysts into their secret relationship. She ended the episode in tears — a good wake-up call, says Hayley Hasselhoff, who plays Amber.

Hayley Hasselhoff has revealed that she has a "good feeling" that Huge will be renewed. The show focuses on a group of teenagers spending time at a weight-loss camp. Hasselhoff, who plays Amber, has now suggested that it would send the wrong message if a second season of the drama wasn't ordered. Speaking to TV Guide, she said: "I feel like if we don't get picked up, it would kind of show that people aren't accepting the reality that everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and you should embrace who you are." Hayley Hasselhoff has claimed that her Huge character Amber will learn from her recent romance. Amber's secret relationship with camp counsellor George (Zander Eckhouse) ended in the last episode but Hasselhoff explained that it might be for the best. "[Amber] came to camp to lose weight and I think now she realises she got off-track because she focused all her time and energy on this boy that she shouldn't really be with," Hasselhoff told TV Guide. "Her whole fling with George brings her to a place where she figures out a whole different side to herself. She was secretive and a little insecure about it, but now she knows she needs to be true to herself and not let him dictate her life." However, Hasselhoff hinted that the relationship may not be over, saying: "There are (more)...

David Hasselhoff is his daughter's best friend. The 58-year-old star is currently working on a reality TV show with children Taylor Ann, 20, and Hayley Hasselhoff, 17, his kids with his ex-wife, actress Pamela Bach, and his youngest child hopes the program will show how close the family are.
"The biggest misconception is that we're not a close family. We're all best friends," Hayley told website Pop Eater. "We're all so close to each other. It's really amazing. They're the first people I call about anything."
The 10-part as-yet untitled series follows David on tour in Austria and overseeing his daughters' music careers as they work on an album for their band Bella Vida. Hayley promised the show will reflect her family as they really are, but warned she and her relatives are "crazy".
"Our family's so close that it doesn't matter if there's cameras around," she said. "We're crazy already, why not film us?...

The Monday, July 26 episode sees Nikki's character Will growing more jealous of Ian's (Ari Stidham) infatuation with Amber (Hayley Hasselhoff), so to show off her romantic, softer side she writes a love song to make her feelings about Ian known.
The rest of the camp is anxiously awaiting news on which movie they get to watch for "Movie Night," all while rumors swirl and anticipation builds about the potential hook ups among the various campers.

Zander Eckhouse has revealed details of his upcoming romantic storyline on Huge. Eckhouse told TV Guide that his character George, a counsellor at the weight-loss camp, will struggle to deal with his feelings for Amber (Hayley Hasselhoff). "You have to walk that fine line," he said. "Can you? Can you? It's definitely tough." He added: "There's major tension between them. You can feel it. George is definitely taken by Amber, but because he's so young and new, he's trying to find the balance between being a friend, an authority figure, a mentor, and maybe being more than friends with some of them." Eckhouse suggested that the pair could eventually get together, saying: "Will it be resolved?... I think, (more)...

I was very wrong about ABC Family's "Huge" (Monday nights at 9 Est). I assumed wrongly that a show about teenager set at a fat camp -- especially one released in the wake of Paul Blart -- would be a series of fat jokes, fat pratfalls, and a lot of other easy but spectacularly unfunny jokes. Or worse: It'd be a series of treacly After-school specials about eating disorders. But it's neither of those things. It's a sophisticated teen drama with nuance of character. It's surprisingly thoughtful and aims to explore issues of obesity and self-image in a way that's not self-contained -- there are no magical makeovers, and I'd be surprised if any of the characters lost a significant amount of weight throughout the course of the season. Indeed, it's as much about the challenges of living with the extra weight as it is about getting rid of it.

Is there anything as sweet as your first crush on an authority figure?
In "Huge," which airs its second episode tonight, Hayley Hasselhoff's character Amber has some serious chemistry with her hot camp counselor, George, played by Zander Eckhouse.
Will he buck the system and give in to his obvious feelings for Amber? Fingers crossed!
Amber isn't the only one having some boy issues. Nikki Blonsky's character, Will, has a thing for Ian, a fellow camper... but is shocked when she learns that some of the campers think she's a lesbian. "She's shocked, and she asks her friend, you know, 'Do you think I'm gay?' It's a really difficult situation for her," Blonsky told Zap2it last week.
Get ready to meet a new camper, Danielle, who comes into the cabin to replace the camper sent home last week. Danielle is... interesting. Her first words upon arriving...

David Hasselhoff's daughter Hayley Hasselhoff credits her famous dad with giving her the confidence to play a weight-loss camper in new TV show "Huge" because he helped the teen get over her own lifelong image struggles. The upcoming program, starring "Hairspray" actress Nikki Blonsky, is based on the book of the same name by Sasha Paley, about a group of teens and staff at weight-loss camp Wellness Canyon.
Hayley will play Amber, a curvy teen who is the slimmest girl at the camp but considers herself too big. And the 17-year-old starlet admits she may have turned down the part if the "Baywatch" star had encouraged her to drop pounds like most other Hollywood actresses.
She explains, "In Los Angeles, everybody feels like you have to be a certain way to fit in... I think that's why I've really stayed grounded - because of my family - and stayed true to myself.

ABC Family is rapidly becoming the home of some of our favorite shows. "Pretty Little Liars" is the hottest thing we've seen all summer, and "Huge," about teenagers at a weight-loss camp, debuts tonight, June 27. We've already checked out the premiere, and this is one you won't want to miss.
The star of the show, Nikki Blonsky -- yes, the lucky girl who got to hook up with Zac Efron in "Hairspray" -- stopped by the Ktla News Desk on June 24 to talk about her character. Zap2it caught up with her in the green room after her appearance.
After chatting with Blonsky, we're even more convinced that "Huge" is a can't-miss summer show. Here's why!
1. No other cast on television looks like this one. With a few rare exceptions, "Huge" is the first show with an entirely plus-size cast. "Most of America is plus-sized," Blonsky tells us. "I really...

ABC Family's Huge takes place at a weight-loss camp, but executive producer Winnie Holzman says, "You don't need to be fat or have a weight issue to relate to it." The series (Mondays at 9/8c) follows a diverse group of teens. Willamina (Nikki Blonsky) is an outsider who sets out to gain weight to anger her parents, while Amber (Hayley Hasselhoff) is the camp's "golden girl" — with a lot less confidence than it appears. Although different from Holzman's previous shows My So-Called Life and Once and Again, Huge similarly focuses on the scariness of change as the characters struggle and try to figure out who they are.

Despite growing up around the bikini-clad gals of "Baywatch," Hayley has a healthy relationship with her body. Hayley told Access Hollywood's Maria Menounos. "I'm comfortable with being ...

If you share my latest addiction, Pretty Little Liars, you’ve probably seen previews for a new ABC Family series, Huge.
To tell the truth, I haven’t paid much attention to the show because it looked like just one more show about a “fat kid” trying to fit in. But TV Squad ran an interview with the stars of Huge, Nikki Blonksy (Hairspray) and Hayley Hasselhoff (yes, David’s daughter), that got my attention. Take a look.
I’m sure you know the words that made my ears perk up: “sexual orientation.” So, I did a little more research into the show.
To my pleasant surprise, the developer of Huge is Winnie Holzman, the creator of My So-Called Life and a writer for Once and Again, among other shows. That is a very good sign, not only for the quality of writing but also for the chance of a realistic gay or lesbian character.
