High atop Los Angeles on Thursday, Variety toasted up-and-comers in show business and music as part of its annual Power of Young Hollywood cover franchise. The class of 2024 included hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter, “SNL” breakout Marcello Hernández and “Stranger Things” supernova Sadie Sink.

The Santa Monica Proper hotel’s rooftop was transformed into a bubblegum confection of pink suede lounge areas, where champagne and Asian fusion hors d’oeuvre were circulated. Digital creators, TikTok stars, power agents and more chatted each other up while a DJ bumped Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar.

A former actor and star of “The Sex Life of the American Teenager,” filmmaker Megan Park showed to accept the Amazon MGM Studios Breakthrough award alongside her leading lady Maisy Stella. The pair delivered a Sundance hit with the comedy “My Old Ass,” about a young girl who collides with an older version of herself.

The 2024 Variety Power of Young Hollywood Party was filled with so many major stars and emerging talent, including honorees Sabrina Carpenter, Marcello Hernández and Sadie Sink.

The young stars posed with their awards at the event held at Santa Monica Proper Hotel on Thursday (August 8) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The three were featured on separate Variety Power of Young Hollywood covers, as the mag recognizes the annual Young Hollywood Impact list, profiling the top young actors, musicians and creators in the industry.

In addition to the three stars above, there were so many other young Hollywood stars in attendance, from actors Joey King and Lukas Gage, to singers Charlotte Lawrence and Lizzy McAlpine, as well as content creators like Jake Shane, Chris Olsen and James Charles.

Exclusive: Awesomeness TV’s content creator reality series Next Influencer will debut its third season Jan. 13 on a new home, Paramount+, becoming the first project from the Awesomeness Unscripted & Digital Franchise Studio to stream on the platform.

The move makes ViacomCBS-owned Awesomeness TV the latest production company within the corporate portfolio to start supplying original content to Paramount+. Next Influencer‘s previous seasons ran on Awesomeness TV’s YouTube channel.

The 10-episode new season, hosted by past winner and TikTok star Owen Holt, follows a group of content creators who compete in a series of challenges to prove they have what it takes to become the next big influencer. One contestant will win a prize package that includes a talent contract with Awesomeness.

On premiere day, the first 5 episodes will be available to stream followed by a weekly release of the season’s remaining 6 episodes—including a reunion special.

Apple TV Plus announced that upcoming thriller series “Severance” will premiere with two episodes on Feb. 18, followed by new episodes weekly on Fridays.

The series stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, who leads a team at Lumon Industries where employees’ work and personal lives are surgically divided. Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Christopher Walken also star.
