Steve Sacavitch is an actor, comic, and writer from South Philadelphia. He is known for his work on Saturday Night Live, the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the Independent cult film classic "All I Know Is", among others.
Steve began his forays in front of the camera right out of high school when he became a bodybuilder, and after going on to win "Mr. Philadelphia" he was bitten by the acting and comedy bug. With the resurgence of the popularity of stand-up comedy in the early 90's, Steve wrote his own material and performed in several local venues such as The Comedy Works and The Comedy factory Outlet in Philadelphia. He performed on the very same stages along with a batch of young comics that later went on to TV and film fame such as Paul F. Tompkins (BoJack Horseman; Housebroken) and John Matta (Duck Dodgers; The Andy Dick Show).
As a writer, Steve also has a feature length screenplay in the pipeline entitled "Don't Worry About it". It is the story a second-generation South Philly street hood who is having trouble walking a mile in his father's crooked shoes after he falls in love with a younger version of his "do the right thing" mother.
With a passion and a real love for his hometown of South Philadelphia, Steve created an organization called "Positivity and Peace" where he heads up food and clothing drives several times a year to benefit the elderly, homeless and unfortunate in and around "the neighborhood" providing necessary services and smiles to many.
