Writer/Director Nikki Braendlin's first film, the feature dramedy AS HIGH AS THE SKY, was distributed by Cinema Libre Studios after garnering strong reviews and multiple awards. Her follow up feature, BALLOONS, is in development with Lisa Barrett McGuire (THIS IS HAPPENING) producing; Karen Tenkhoff (THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, FROZEN) is on board as EP.
Currently Nikki is writing WINE NIGHT, a choose-your-adventure comedy feature for Producer Chady Eli Mattar (CAPERNAUM) whose company, Kino, developed the CtrlMovie technology. Past projects include adapting the NYTimes best-selling memoir FAST GIRL for Eleonore Dailly (I AM NOT AN EASY MAN) and Amy Smart (THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, "Stargirl") and developing "Sundown," a one-hour drama about the Southern Poverty Law Center's Intelligence Project to which Zoe Saldana's production company Cinestar was attached.
Before turning her focus to filmmaking, Nikki worked as a counselor in a group home for young children and teenaged girls. She also co-founded Hear Me Roar Productions (HMR), an all-women's theater company whose productions brought awareness and financial aid to women's and children's charities.
Nikki is a Board member of AWD, and a member of Film Fatales and Glass Elevator.
