Escaping to the desert in their car, Brooke and Rhea encounter God herself (Lindvall), who offers to turn the pair into immortal, vampiric angels of death, destined to wander the earth destroying evil wherever they find it.

On October 2nd the third annual GoreZone International Film Festival got under way at Leicester Square’s Prince Charles Cinema; and for the first time ever, Dread was on the scene to check it out. Our report follows along with condensed reviews of six of the films shown over the weekend.
Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, Breath of Hate, Hyenas, Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer, New Terminal Hotel, Darfur, and Devil's Playground are all included, but first a recap of the event and awards show.
In the face of fellow Leicester Square-based festival and horror heavy hitter, Film4 Frightfest, GoreZone (or Gz, as the magazine has rebranded) would appear to be the underdog. Having experienced the festival first-hand, however, it’s pleasing to discover a level of intimacy and audience connection that is easily lost amongst the hustle and bustle of many larger profile fests, bolstered by...

It's a wrap! The Martin Gropius Bau is empty and the final pickups follow. This is a work in progress and readers are invited and welcome to contribute. Presales have returned in reaction to the reduced number of finished films on offer over the past two markets. Presales applies across the board from Us to French and even Italian films. English language films are increasingly coming out of the major non English language territories but local product is impacting sales on Us films internationally. Business was quickly wrapped up but it was done with a healthy number of buys reported. Lower prices have become accepted but the market must have product as this event proved.

A title change has occurred for Lionsgate's new vampire-fest once known as Pearblossom. When the flick hits home later this year, its new title will be (the much better, yet still kind of generic) Life Blood.
The film stars Sophie Monk (The Hills Run Red), Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie's Halloween I & II), Patrick Renna (Dark Ride), Electra Avellan (Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse), Danny Woodburn (Watchmen), and Charles Napier (The Silence Of The Lambs).
Synopsis
It's New Year's Eve, 1968: While driving on the Pearblossom Highway, a lesbian couple (played by Sophie Monk and Anya Lahiri) find themselves face to face with the creator of the universe (played by Victoria's Secret supermodel Angela Lindvall). Laid to rest for 40 years, the women wake up on New Year's Day as reborn creatures. Now, they walk the earth fighting in the eternal battle of good and evil, not always certain which side they are on.

Bleiberg Entertainment has recently picked up the rights for Life Blood aka Murder World aka Pearlblossom. The film will be distributed through Lionsgate Entertainment and the film has a very off center plotline. "A lesbian couple" meet their creator of the universe, sometimes known as God, who are summoned to fight the forces of evil, and sometimes the good (Bleiberg). The reviews that are available have labeled the film creative and with an intro' like that, the film must be something off the wall. An exact release date is not certain, but expect to see this one on DVD in 2010 (a prediction). Further details inside.

Visibility Matters is a monthly-ish column by AfterEllen.com Founder Sarah Warn about larger trends affecting lesbian/bi women in entertainment and the media.
Visibility Matters: Entertaining the Future
Lesbian/bi visibility in entertainment today is a mass of contradictions. It's both better and worse than it was when I started writing about it more than seven years ago.
There are more lesbian talk show hosts than ever before on network TV, but still very few fictional lesbian characters on broadcast or cable TV.
We now have well-developed, prominent lesbian characters and superheroes in comics — from Willow to Batwoman — but even the most minor lesbian characters are missing from, or "straightened out" in, most studio theatrical releases. Sometimes an entire lesbian subculture is de-gayed, as demonstrated in Whip It.
Female musicians are coming out left and right as gay or bisexual, as we saw when Brandi Carlile finally confirmed last week that she's a lesbian,...

QuietEarth revealed a new teaser trailer for the feminisploitation film Pearblossom (originally titled Murderworld) that stars Sophie Monk and Anya Lahiri as lesbian lovers with superpowers directly from God (Victoria'a Secret model Angela Lindvall). Thanks to our friends over at Bleiberg we've scored the first footage for their upcoming lesbian weirdness Pearblossom. Originally titled Murderworld, the story revolves around a lesbian couple (played by Sophie Monk and Anya Lahiri whose loves scenes are better then her acting) getting some special powers from God (Victoria'a Secret supermodel Angela Lindvall), who in this film, is a female. While clearly made for the more base natures of mankind, it still has a heavy feminist tone. Only one thing is missing, footage from the 60s party at the beginning of the flick.

Where is this film? It was shot in 2007 and I can't find anything on it other then a synopsis and poster, and in fact, I've read radically different plot outlines for it. The one below is listed on Bleiberg's website, and another has the creator of the universe choosing a girl to devour evil. Huh? Vampires? Super models? God? I don't really know, but something about it intrigues me. Now when's it getting a release?
