Hailing from the Birdsville Track in the Far North of South Australia, raised in the driest permanently inhabited place on earth may seem a lifetime away from a career in the film industry however the harsh red landscape and limitless horizons of central Australia influenced Overton from an early age. Judd merges bold cinematic framing with a collaborative nature and strong focus on visual storytelling. His on set attentiveness results in a talent for 'shooting from the hip' which is further complimented through dramatic lighting as well as Judd's calming leadership on large scale productions.
IndieWire praised Overton's work on 'No Activity', mentioning his "exquisite shots". The LA Times called the show "'Waiting for Godot' as a police procedural". Judd's comedic chops also on show in Netflix's 'The Letdown', in 250 countries worldwide. Creators Bell and Scheller praise Overton's work; "He's meticulous, extremely patient and adaptable. He's got a cinematic eye and a calm, determined approach to getting the shot."
