Tamara Becher
- Producer
- Script and Continuity Department
- Editorial Department
Tamara Becher was born in Queens, New York and raised in the ungodly human humidor that is South Florida. At an early age she developed a formidable addiction to film and television and attending the University of Miami's Film School was the most expensive way she could think of to deal with it.
After graduation, Tamara moved to Los Angeles and scored her first industry job as a post p.a. on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she developed an interest in writing for TV. She later segued into script coordinating and worked on a bunch of shows you've never heard of.
In between her various script coordinating jobs, fronting her punk band and working as a reader for DreamWorks she managed to cram in some writing. Eventually, it paid off. In 2008 she won a spot in NBC's "Writer's on the Verge" program and a year later landed her first staffing job on Syfy's Warehouse 13. To date, her writing credits include The Good Guys (Fox); Covert Affairs (USA); Shades of Blue (NBC); Marvel's Iron Fist (Netflix). Tamara is currently adapting the novel A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore for UCP and Hypnotic.
Tamara is gay married to her gay wife and has a beautiful four year-old daughter, though their bougie pre-school prefers they not confine her to a gender identity until they can be guided by the shaman, who has a three year wait list.
When not writing or mothering, Tamara enjoys music (current faves are the Hamilton Soundtrack and The Greasy Strangler score), reading (current faves are Missoula by Jon Krakauer and Bitch Planet by Kelly Sue DeConnick) and baking (breads mostly).
