A Lifetime movie that’s had a considerable amount of effort put into it is a rarity. The Girl with No Name, directed by Jeff Hare, is just that. It is still a Lifetime movie, though, and it comes with the usual hallmarks of it: corny acting, animated characters, a quick resolution, and a very amateurish plot. What works here is the twists and turns, and in this article we’re mainly going to discuss that.

While Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton have different style preferences, both Oscar-winning actors wore edgy silhouettes that reflected their taste in fashion at the Madrid photocall for their upcoming Spanish drama film, The Room Next Door.

The Room Next Door: A Story of Life, Death, and Friendship
The Room Next Door, the first-ever Spanish film to be awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice International Film Festival in September, follows the friendship between Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton). They were close friends when they were younger, but life’s circumstances kept them apart; Martha became a war reporter, and Ingrid an autofictional novelist.
Following years of separation, “they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.” Martha is seen in the hospital battling cancer,...

SNL alum Cecily Strong is engaged!
While we don’t know much about her 40-year-old partner – who fans think is a man she’d previously spoken about named “Jack,” – we do know that her proposal didn’t go exactly as he probably wanted.
Keep reading to find out more…
Cecily explained on Late Night with Seth Meyers, “I got engaged. You always said, ‘No one will ever love you, and you’ll never get married,’” she quipped. “You were wrong!”
She shared, “It was not a surprise, but I am kind of a detective. We talked about getting married and then one day he was like, ‘I’m so inundated with emails and texts. Look at this,’ and he showed me his phone, and the first text was from a friend and it said, ‘How did it go? *Ring emoji.*’”
She continued, “And then I was like, ‘Oh, oh no,...

Four years ago, it was announced that Ben Wheatley would be writing, directing, and executive producing Generation Z, a “hilarious, frightening, and political” series that would consist of six hour-long episodes that would “mix flesh-eating zombies into a story that satirizes how Brexit has divided the UK.” That project didn’t make it into production when it was originally supposed to because of the pandemic shutdown… but after making his latest film Meg 2: The Trench (you can read our review at This Link and check out our interview with the filmmaker Here), Wheatley has circled back around to Generation Z and is now knee-deep into filming it! To celebrate the fact that Generation Z is finally being made, Channel 4 has unveiled a batch of first look images, and you can check those out at the bottom of this article.

Jaime Camil and Ann Harada are back for Schmigadoon! Season 2 in wildly different roles.
Instead of dreamy Doc Lopez, Camil plays cop Sgt. Rivera, lackey of Octavius Kratt. No longer the mayor's demure wife, Florence Menlove, Harada is the hard-bitten Madame Frau.
Camil and Harada have extensive careers on stage and screen, but they clearly had a blast returning to the fantasy musical Schmigaverse.
We caught up with Camil and Harada to discuss what Schmigadoon! means to them, how they approached their characters, and who among their castmates most impresses them.
The delightful pair play off each other well onscreen and off, with occasional teasing but a great sense of fun and mutual respect.
You're both Broadway veterans. Jaime, you were even in Chicago! What's it like revisiting that world, albeit a skewed version?
Camil: Ann is Broadway royalty. I am not.
Harada: Jaime. You've been on Broadway!
Camil: Oh,...

I have come to speak on behalf of those for whom traditional musical-comedy is their happy place. For these lucky souls, I bear the great news that the delightful Emmy-winning Schmigadoon! has once again landed on Apple TV+ with its love for the form evident in every spot-on parody lyric from inspired composer and series co-creator Cinco Paul. In Season 2, however, when contemporary couple Melissa (Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong) and Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) seek respite from their disappointment in the real world — reason enough to retreat to the world of musicals — they are stymied in their attempt to revisit the Brigadoon-like 1940s fantasyland of upbeat Rodgers & Hammerstein-style show tunes. Instead, they are plunged into a sexier, more sinister underworld of tantalizing tunes. “Welcome to Schmicago,” purrs the mischievous new narrator (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s ...
